I went to ismiles to manage my dental issues. The following is why I would warn people about this facility.

Billing issues- I have 3 different insurances covering my dental needs, 1 of them being Medicaid for the Employed disabled. I have 300.00 in care credit. The state of CT frowns on facilities that attempt to collect monies form clients that  are on this program. I believe they call it balance billing. They collected 175.00 from me. They state I owe them an additional 2000.00 after they told me in February I owed nothing. My boyfriend heard them. They sent me a statement telling me I owe nothing. Between February and April I heard nothing from them and didnt go in for any service. The "new" amount came up when I complained about the service.

The way I have been manageing my dental work was going to 2 different dentists. The reason I did this is because I was paying for my dental services that I could afford. I used the state dental when The bill was too large for me to handle.

Quality of care-1) the molar #2 had a huge hole drilled into it by the dentist at ismiles. They filled it, and within a week the filling fell out. I immediately went back to ismiles. I was seen by another dentist within the practice. He told me he would not fill the tooth because he felt a new filling would fall out as well. The tooth was left open pending approval from the state of ct for a crown. The tooth was left open too long and developed a cavity, and infected the tooth next to it. The other dentist stated to me that both will have to be pulled. This is not the first time this has happened, and I was further advised thast I would need bridges, root canals, and crowns on multiple teeth. Total bill 5000.00 dollars. Ismiles never advised me the condition of my mouth was that severe.

State of CT-  I spoke to the director of the Medicaid program and she informed me that all the work that was needed for me had beed approved, and she was wondering why it hadn't been done. Ismiles told me the State of CT had my request hung up in channels.

Customer Service-When I called The Avon Dental Arts office to speak with Dr. Ali, the owner of ismiles. I was met with the rudiest, most undesireable receptionist. I managed to tell her why I was looking for Dr. Ali, and was told I had no business calling them that I should take my concerns to East Hartford. You guessed right, I got no return call from Dr. Ali.

My hope is that every and anyone reading this takes my warning seriously. These people are butchers, not dentistrs. Go elsewhere.
