IT University Online 99 Dollar Cisco Groupon Worthless, Non-sanctioned, New York , Internet

Rather interesting comment about this product and the response of the company owner mispelling "lose"  or actually the word was "losing", consider the writer of the original ripoff report couldn't spell "MANAGER" but did manage to spell "MANGER".

As stated by others, this is not the end all be all.  All certifications require a lot of studying, real world hands on experience (or at least some very good lab simulations.)

I've been certified as an MCSE and have taken other certification courses.  I've always used more than one tool to pass the tests, usually books, online courses, some classes, test question software/sites, etc.  Study hard, rent or borrow hardware or find some sort of simulation software, and use all the testing question sites you can.  Save up and buy the testing software to compliment this course.

There is no easy path to any of these certifications, and for good reason.  You don't get paid the money you can make in IT by passing certifications that don't test for real world.  Those certs have to mean something and unfortunately, the harder they are, the more valuable they are.  IT is not for everyone and not everyone has IT.

By the way, as far as Cisco partnered training (or MS or any other corporate partnered training), it may or may not be the best way to go to get certified.  People fail that take these training courses also.  Some of the best training I've seen is not always a training partner.  Those places generally pay extra to have the corporate logo tacked onto their training site.  They meet the minimum requirements the corporation has set forth to be a qualified training site.  There are some places that are better that save their money for better instructors or materials, since the training partners generally pay something for that title. 

Well as a person who bought this Groupon i was very concerned of recieving a poor product due to the price of 100 bucks. I did my research before hand and came to the conclusion that the only down side is the videos and content were a few years out dated.  Well now it makes sense,  i thought.  Nobody can provide the latest I.t. content for anything less than retail college prices. 5 years ago i was in the Cisco networking academy at a local campus in the twin cities.  I know what Cisco material is and how it's taught,  i just needed a back to basics program to relearn the protocols and entry level to mid range networking that can be so easily forgotten when cramming so much material in a advanced level school like cisco academy. This it online program was perfect!  Ill be honest i didn't get the time in my busy life to get to all the material covered But wow it was great being able to pause and go back if a concept required more time for me to study. Ill be honest if you think you can pay 100 bucks and think that's all the effort you need to invest into a career of any kind.  Go back and work at mcdonalds. This program serves as an instrument for your schooling, not a one stop shop.  Just because it's advertised as such doesn't make this school a ripoff. Im willing to bet there are individuals who took this and got certified no problem.  Just because you need more to get there doesn't qualify you to provide inacurate information.  Ill buy the forensics program with the same thought in mind.  Life isn't that easy and either is this industry,  so if you can't accept that,  maybe a new career suits you. 

I was very interested in either the Cisco or Database training avaiable on the groupon..  Im concerend they are false since the interent brngs out all the deadbeats when hard working people are just trying to go further in life legally.

Reading the reviews kind of made me more confident in going forward until I read the rebutlle from the "manager" from IT University or is it Owner in the title? When the manger from the course you are about to pay to take cannot spell "lose" right (twice infact) explains how real it is makes me more skeptical then I was before. 

My father has taken the course and at one point was a certified teacher for it so if i decide to go forward and purchase it I will not have to worry about waiting till te test cause he will be the first to look at it with me.

I just purchased this Groupon $99 deal after reading the ripoff report as I did not find it convincing. I had been looking at prices for online IT courses for sometimes and considered most of them ripoff because they are too high to be paid by an individual who tries to learn the stuff.Most of the courses are priced for company paid employee training and beyond affordability of individuals. When an individual fails certification exam , it maybe due to many other reasons than the quality of training courses.e.g. a dumb student will fail the certification exam no matter how expensive training course he paid for.

I had an expired CCNA.  I studied to pass these tests again, but I failed on my first try.  After thinking about how I prepared, I realized that I had not put the time in to be properly prepared.  Cisco has made the CCNA test very real-world oriented and a high level of knowledge is needed to pass them.

For anyone who is interested in this cisco bundle, I enrolled in this course for the 99.00 bundle

my CCNA and CCNP have expired, and I took this course to refresh myself on the materials and updatesto the course, its a TOOL, its not an END ALL BE ALL bootcamp ... your paying 99.00 good grief, I paid 129.00 for a d**n book to help me as well, and I will tell you something, the course is better then a single book! (imo)

The guy who trashed this online courseware obviously had expectation blown WAY out of proportion, as far as I am concerned this is a GREAT VALUE, I also referred this course to friends who are just getting into the networking field, I feel its a solid place to jump into learning networking, and put you on the path to cisco certification.

I also completed the ITU CISSP course, I am still in the review quiz sections, and I have also augmented this course with transcenders on CISSP.. I want to make sure I have my bases covered before going to certify on such a broad scoped certification such as the CISSP, all this is just common sense, the ITU online university courseware is a great value as a TOOL to get you into the IT field.

I have recommended it and I would do so again.

I have mixed feelings about the statements put out by the author of this Rip-Off report.  I'm in pretty much the same boat, I need the CCNA training, but since I have to foot the bill myself, I was open to less expensive alternitives.  When I found IT University Online, my first thought was that it was a rip-off or at best shoddy material, but I decided it was worth the risk.  I have the Cisco ICND1 and ICND2 Study Guides and found that the on-line videos followed fairly closely with the written material.  The persenter seems to know what he's talking about and is good at giving you an idea about what you need to concentrate on for the tests.  My biggest criticism is that he has a very monotone voice and more than once I found myself starting to doze off.  I finished the videos, I took the IT University practice tests and passed.  I re-read the books, did the Pearson-Vue practice tests and when I felt comfortable, I took the real ICND1 test.  I scored 876 out of 1000 on my first try (passing is 803) and overall I'm fairly happy.  I'm currently studying for ICND2 and I'll be taking that test Sept 30th.  These tests aren't easy even if you spend $3,000 or so on the Offficial Cisco Classes, but it can be done.  The tests I'm taking are ICND1 & ICND2 v1.2 and the last day to take them IS Sept 30th, but a few weeks ago the ICND1 & ICND 2 v2.0 study material was added to the same $99 package that I purchased.  If you're expecting this training to replace the Official Cisco classes, think again, but for the price I believe it was well worth what I spent . 

As a side note, I know of two people that took the Official Cisco classes and still failed their first attempt at passing the tests and one scored 823 on the second try.

 Approximately 6 months ago (give or take), I also came across this deal Groupon and as I am already in the IT field and was seeking to better my knowledge and beef up my Resume I was seeking a path to achieving a Cisco CCNA. After reviewing the package on their website and weighing the pros and cons and the likelyhood that I would actually follow-through with some discipline and follow the course videos and tests I decided to spend the $99.

About 4 months ago, after I had reviewed the materials a few times from that course and felt comfortable I went for my CCENT (ICND1) and passed on the first try. About 1 month ago (I had taken a month to relax and enjoy my CCENT cert after getting it), I went in for my CCNA (ICND2) and again, I passed on the first try. And that was skipping a lab because I was running out of time at the end, and spending 10 minutes alone on the first question because I was so nervous I would miss something. I am Now working on my CCNP after choosing to pursue that rather than the CCNA security or oice certs that are also included with it.

The Materials are thorough and detailed, and lengthy and intended for someone who is going to study, who has a basic understanding of computers and who is serious about what they are going for. They are supported by lab demonstrations, explanations and more often than include more than you actually need for the tests (though they do make a point to summarize the parts that WILL be important on the relative certmodule you are studying for. There is a very good selection of test and questions to allow you to gauge if you're ready and which categories you need to work on.

I strongly disagree with this "Rip off Report".

In reference to the slanderous report by an alleged "Mr. Walter K****" first published on January 30^th, let me first start by saying that this report is 100% false and has zero validity. Whomever wrote this report also posted the exact same report only using a DIFFERENT NAME on this site: (((link redacted)))

On this report they used the name “Walter K****” and on the other website they use the name “Derek Landi”. I have thoroughly reviewed our customer database for both names (correct and incorrect spelling) and have no customers ever with those names purchasing any of our products or services.

Whomever wrote this report was clearly a competitor upset with loosing business to us. We sell our courses at prices below almost all competitors in the market. That tends to make competitors loose business and it seems in this case they chose to write a false negative report instead of trying to compete in the marketplace legitimately. We offer our courses at low rates because we believe in providing a product that is affordable and attainable for the masses.

Another point that shows that this report is false; ITU has a 100% satisfaction guarantee and exam pass guarantee. IF FOR ANY REASON any customer has been unsatisfied with our products we refund them, period! We do this because we believe that great products, at affordable prices, coupled with great customer service & support make is what separates us from everyone else in the market place.

None of this article has a shred of truth in it. If the client truly has a legitimate upset with our company and or service we would have refunded them right away. This is just a slanderous attempt to discredit our program without one word of truth.
