PARENTS BEWARE:

I am a single parent who was in need of a summer camp program to care for my 6yr old son. I ran across some signs near the local gwinnett co parks and neighborhoods nearby for Sports Summer Camp. I contact the director John to get the information needed to sign up. John informed me that Ivy League has been around for a couple of years and that I should come to the registration on the 24th of May.

On May 24th I wrote Ivy League a check for $55.00 to cover registration. Luckily I opted to wait to pay for the first week on the first day of camp. I was told to come back on Sat. May 30 to attend the open house and tour the facility.

When I arrive on May 30th, nobody was there. I received a message from Andrea, stating that the open house was not taking place due to construction. Which as I sat in the parking lot and took a good look around, I was the only person there. The following day I received another missed early morning call stating that Ivy League will not be opening the Monday promised, and that camp would resume the following Monday June 8th.

Well on June 2nd, 2008 I received the last early morning message from Andrea stating that due to the lack of participation that Ivy League will not be opening there doors. Being a single mother that hits very hard. As I paniked I realize that I did not have anything but a check to show that they were paid. They don't give you anything which I should have caught ahead of time.

I have notified my bank and I am going to contact the authorities now that I now for sure that this is a scam.

Well parents, I was called today by a loss prevention company that is working with Mr. Marsh to clean up the mess. I was quickly contacted and refunded the start up fee of $55.00. It's not a scam after all, more like chaos... If only I would have been contacted sooner... Communication is the key!
