In Sept of 2010 I had an accident while driving a truck for IWX, It was in fact my fault, I got a ticket I paid the ticket, there was never a question of who was at fault. There is however, the issue that IWX has really screwed me in that they were trying to make me pay for a part of the accident, a total of $5000, the amount coming out of my check would have been over a $1000 a month, until the balance was paid. The amount coming out was never negotiable, I am positive they would have taken my whole check until the amount was paid, if they could have gotten away with it and left me with zero, who cares what it would do to my finances and well being?
Keep in mine this is a company truck and I am ONLY a driver, not an O/O or least owner! It was as if the company might dry up without this money and believe me this company is not going to dry up anytime soon, they are worth a lot of money. Gee, I wonder how they got all that money, of course it had nothing to do with the truck drivers, it must have office personnel and mechanics that made all that money!
I was told if I did not pay that I have quit!! I was not fired, according to them, but I was told to get out of the building, that I have quit!!! Which also means they fought tooth and nail over my unemployment and as yet I have received no benefits that I am entitled to, but the story doesn't end there, I cannot find anyone that will give me a driving job now because of the accident & ticket, mostly because of the insurance companies telling the trucking companies who they can & can't hire?? The catch-22 to that is, No one will hire me for 3 years because of the accident and ticket and then in 3 years from now, no one will hire me because I haven't been driving in the last 3 years!!!!!! In short, they took away my lively hood!!!
One more thing I would like to add, if there is anyone else out there that have had this same experience with IWX or another company I would like to hear about it as I believe if there are enough people we could have grounds for a class action law suit??? If any attorneys are reading this, I would appreciate your input.

There are some holes in your story. What was the nature of the accident? And why did you get a ticket and what for? Was it a rollover? Rearend collision? Backing? Most companies will hire you if you haven't had more than a combination of 3 accidents or tickets in the last 3 years unless it was a serious accident involving a fatality or if it was a ticket for a serious CDL violation. Did you look at your employment contract when you got hired to see if they have a right to deduct charges for accidents? Some companies will at least charge the deductible back to the driver if it was an at-fault accident. Im surprised you didn't get fired right on the spot as from what I heard IWX has fired drivers for receiving more than one ticket. Why are you reporting this almost 2 years later? There are always 2 sides to a story and as of now yours isn't adding up. Im not taking any sides here. Just making an observation.
