J. K. Harris LLC Take your money but do nothing for it. Supposed tax experts couldn't even complete IRS forms correctly. Las Vegas, Nevada

J.K. Harris LLC is a rip-off!   I contacted them responding to advertising in Yellow Pages as an income tax consulting firm to resolve audit issues from the IRS concerning previous years.  I emphasized that time was important as deadlines for our appeals were near.  Their local representative in Henderson, NV, Alan Montoya, said they would be able to help us and told me what the fee would be.  We paid one half and set an automatic withdrawal for the second half.  We brought the IRS information to their office and only then were told that all such audit work was done way over in South Carolina and we would not have direct contact with the person working on our file, only telephone messages.  We were assured that there would be no problem.

Almost two months and many un-answered phone calls later they told us they believed that they knew how to resolve the problem with the IRS, but would need more money to complete the case.  We made arrangements and paid for the additions which totaled $1710.  We have copies of bank statements showing this. We were getting stressed because of the time limits of the IRS. 

Then we were notified from the IRS that they had just received the power of attorney forms from  J.K. Harris, almost three months after we had signed them.  The IRS said these forms were expired because the date was more than 45 days after they were originally signed. So at that point J.K. Harris was not representing us officially.

Our concern over this critical oversight made us wonder if they knew what they were doing at all!  When we called again there was no response, so when we checked on the Web with Rip Off Reports we found 269 other reports already posted against this firm!  They all say the same thing, they take your money but do nothing for it.

When we called and asked for our money back they gave us a run-a-round saying we had to apply for a refund through some holding company.

I hope others check before they use this phony business
