A description of my problem is that the Ford dealership that installed my Kelly tires are saying they are not responsible for any problems with the tires and that I should take it up with Goodyear. I spoke with a Bart Littleton and his service manager on Monday, July 10, 2017 as it was the first opportunity that I had to speak with anyone at Jacky Jones Ford, 174 New Highway 68, Sweetwater, TN37874.

Both Mr. Littleton and his service manager said that the tires appeared to be more worn on one side that might indicate a problem with the alignment or something wrong with the car. I have photos that show the tires are worn slick on all surfaces that touched pavement.

I explained to them that I had received the car on 4/22/2016 as a gift from my sister and had purchased two Kelly tires from them on June 14, 2016. There was 92,642 miles on the gauge when the tires were purchased. On July 29, 2017 the gauge read 117,962 miles, which would indicate that the difference was 25,320 which was the miles on the tires when they failed to be safe any longer.

I explained to the two men that I had used a local tire shop do the rotation and alignment on my vehicle's tires and they told me that they still were not responsible for the tires condition.

The final conversation from the two men was that they could only offer me a 20% credit only if I purchased the tires from them and that an alignment would cost me an additional $79.95 for the alignment, which should always be included with any new tire purchase.

Needless to say I am very unhappy with Jacky Jones Ford Dealership. They should have offered at least 40-45% credit in the form of a check, and not a credit towards any tires that I had to order through them and have installed through them.

My sister telephoned Mr. Littleton as well as sent him an email message 5/1/2017 (enclosed with this fax) wherein she requested that my Ford Focus be checked from front to back and side to side and to make the necessary repairs to make the car safe for me to drive. She specifically mentioned to check air pressure in tires and to advise her of the condition and tread life on the tires. She also mentioned that two of the tires had been replaced by Jacky Jones the last year.

When I showed them the invoice receipt for the repairs they had done May 11, 2017 and that they were supposed to assess all the tires on my vehicle, they did not do this at all. I was told that the invoice for the two Kelly tire purchase was done by Mr. Trent Raper, who no longer worked for them. I fail to see how that would impact the poor condition of my tires.

The repair order was done 5/4/2017 by Bart Littleton. My sister had spoken to him and it is obvious that the inspection of the tires was not done, as he said that usually they give out a "booklet" stating the condition of the tires. I also advised him that no booklet was ever given to me and that I only received a copy of the invoice. There is absolutely no indication that they even inspected the tires and if they had assessed either my sister or myself at the time, I would have replaced the tires immediately.

The invoice indicated that Jack Jones was to "check car over completely and advise". There were some service problems with the car itself that they repaired but there was never any mention that the Kelly tires should be replaced. I have my suspicions about that because they had installed the Kelly tires and saw that they were failing the 55,000 mile warranty on them and simply did not want to bring that to my attention at the time.

I am a senior citizen and should not be taken advantage of in this manner. I might be old but I still can smell a skunk when I smell one.
