Jamahkiri Spa & Resort Worse hotel I have ever stayed in and very dishonest management team. Horrible, horrible , horrible Koh Tao Thailand

First, our rooms had two lizards, a bunch of insects, and a lot of other insects. We first noticed it at night bc when we checked in during the day we left our room immediately. as soon as we noticed it at night, we called the front desk, and the guy wouldn’t do anything about it. mainly it was because it was after midnight  and im sure he was a low level employee. We tried to find another hotel but it’s a small island and it was during the Christmas/new year so everything was sold out.  Thus, we slept in our friends room. The next morning when we called to speak to the manager, the manager didn’t come to my friends room to discuss this our disgusting room for at least one hour.  the assistant manager ( a german lady with blue eyes) and the manager  (a Caucasian man) came to our room. They had a very careless attitude and told us they don’t have any rooms so there is nothing they can do – we then showed them the pictures we took of all the disgusting insects in our room, then suddenly he remembered he had a room and he switched us. this room was acceptable.  When the lady walked us to the room, I asked her what is she going to do to make up for the first night ,and she said she will speak to the manager.  When we were checking out we followed up with the gal and she said “there is nothing we can offer you because the insects were factors outside our control” LOL. What a horrible answer.   I then disputed it with my credit card, and the hotel denied the whole thing, and since the records show we stayed their both nights there was nothing I can do. Very shady.

Aside from that, half the hotel room in this hotel you have to take many, many steps. Ours was toward the bottom, but we literally have over 200 steps. No joke, im a slim guy and in pretty good shape, but I had to take breaks every few minutes , and didn’t want to ever go to my room bc I had to go up and down over 200 steps. There are many rooms like this. If you make the horrible decision to stay at this hotel, get the rooms you don’t take steps which are on the top floors.  You wont believe how many steps there are until you get there.

Lastly, and this isn’t totally the hotels fault perhaps, but my friends and I instead of taking a ferry to another island, decided to rent a private boat. We paid US $1,000 which in Thailand is a lot of money. They set us up with a third party boat person, and the boat was in really bad shape.  The whole boat ride was so horrible and bumpy , but toward the end one of the two engines went out , and our boat started to sink and there were no life vest on there! Our wives/fiancée were crying their eyes out literally thinking they were going to die (the guys were not that scared). Fortunetly there was another boat that came close to us which made us feel better worse case scenario, but we barely made it to shore and when we did there were police, paramedics etc. what kind of hotel sets you up for $1000 bucks with a shitty boat with no life vest.

This is the first review I had written my whole life, but I was so upset , especially how they lied, that I am taking the time to make sure everyone knows what a horrible and dishonest hotel this place is.
