James Calhoun collected $20,000 from my father-in-law for a 1961 Impala restoration. He claimed that it was like new and totally scammed that money. The car was driven 4 miles and the clutch went out and had to be towed. The clutch was improperly installed. Upon that repair the gross negligence was discovered. The brake drum was barely attached and the wheel very well could have come off while driving. The windows are manual and won't roll down. The glass leaks and the entire car was flooded when it rained. The seats are covered rusty springs that are literally falling apart. The back seat was not attached to the floor. Looaey goosey thrown in the back. The windshield wiper motor was froze up. The floorboard air vent one was missing and the other  was set in place without any hardware. My father-in-law was told it had a Muncie transmission and it did not.  He paid James $500.00 monthly payments and followed them with $1000.00 payments for several months. Until James collected $20,000.00. The car also is sitting on a warped frame. It obviously was wrecked. Right now the car is being restored. My father-in-law has spent $6000.00 more on getting the car in shape to drive. Not sure how much more this "restored car" is going to cost. James claimed to be honest and promised the car would be like new.  His shoddy restoration and careless workmanship could have cost someone’s life, as the car was not fit for the road. Nowhere near ready.
