fter a month finally did the guy tells me it was a chemical balance problem so i reminded him mine was only 8 months old he said he has seen them go bad in 3 weeks!! seems like they would make something a little stronger than that. but the main thing is i kept my chemicals within their limits!

do not buy a pool heater from these people!!!! they sell pool heaters at very high prices(i paid $1800 for mine)but they use parts that dont last.My pool heater is only 8 months old and the heat exchanger is bad. A new exchanger will be $900. but will still go bad again.

it took me a month to finally get to talk to the warranty guy.Out of all their phone numbers the warranty phone number from there website says it has been disconnected!!!when i did get to talk to the warranty guy (jack Zurich)he said he has seen them go bad in 3 weeks. Seems to me they would use something stronger.i have documented everything so i do have records of every phone call and email.

i also have a jandy and within in a five month period the heat exchanger went twice... they told me it was a chemical imbalance... it runs on chemicals .... thats what pool heaters do... i had a hayward for 10 years and never had a problem.... my buddy also got a jandy , we bought them at the same time and the same thing happened to him .... its a defective product and they expect us to pay ....(again) lets file a class action suit .... toyota just tried to dupe there consumers with a faulty product and got stung ... huge lawsuit ...... jandy is trying to make the consumer pay for there mistake .... its not right ....  i say we get after them .... im going to take the heat exchanger out and take it to a university in toronto to get it tested by a chemist.... alkilidity... i dont think so .... poor product you bet.... if anyone else has a problem with a jandy pool heater email me at (((Redacted)))

Having the same problem!

AUTHOR: Jeffw - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 02, 2010

I'm having the same problem with heat exchanger been leaking from the start and has gotten progressively worst. They keep telling me over the phone no less that it condensation. The one crappy service company in town told me the same thing a two years ago when it wasn't leaking that bad, however the unit was not even running or powered on!

Now it leaking to the point I am lossing 1-2 inches of water every couple days. I can't get Jandy to provide me another service company or send a real rep out and just get the run around on the phone. I also talk the same guy above. I was also suppose to have 5 year warranty which I have copy of and they claim the don't know anything about it or will not honor it nor can I get anyone to respond or inspect the Unit. Just spent a couple hundred dollars to re rout plumbing away from heat pump so water will stop leaking, now I have a Big Black Yard ornament! Will never buy Jandy again!

Take Ownership Mr!

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

Jandy is a good established company, you need to take ownership of your product and admit that your misuse of chemicals caused the problem. If I had a dime for every customer that has equipment problems that said, "my chemicals are perfect!" as I am looking at a coroded heater I would be RICH!

Remember, Battery Acid is clear, clean and does not smell. People all the time say, my pool/hot tub is always clear, clean and does not smell so I don't check/add the chemicals.

Think about it!?!?!?!
