I recieved a notice of a class action lawsuit against emachines in January,2013, after researching what the action was about I proceed to file a calim and remain a member of the class action against eMachines.

On July 18, 2013 I received letter from the class action administrator; KCC Class Action Services in Providence, RI,(PH.1-866-381-9100). The letter stated the court had granted final approval of the Stoud v. eMachines, Inc. settlement and this certificate represents your award for your approved claim.

My problem with the settlement is this. The units available for relacement are refurbished and only come with a 90 day hardware warranty. Normally the hardware usually has a 1 year maunfactures warranty? I believe the limit of 90 days is because the units are provided not by the manufacture, but by a liquidation company, which has refurbished them. I don't think this settlement has done us any favors. I wouldn't buy refurbished in the first place. These units already have had problems.

I received two replacement computer an Acer and a Gateway from the settlement and both machines malifunctioned, both motherboards went out and it was not worth fixing.  This was a ripoff.  I'm sure other people has experienced problems with their machines from the settlement.  Again, I personally would not have purchased a refurbished machine but it stated this is part of the settlement or receive $62.50.  Again, I should have taken the money instead.  This has left a very bitter taste in my mouth because I have been ripoff again.  

I hope someone can investigate in this matter.  I didn't know where to report my issue because the website for the products and lawsuit is deactivated.  emachinesredeem.com or www.emachinesfloppydisksettlement.com.  I didn't just get ripoff once but twice.  Wow, not a great experience.
