Jared Galleria Of Jewelers Repair Fraud Alert!!! Maple Grove Minnesota

I sent a watch out for a clasp repair, and estimate for an overall cleaning. The watch came back 3-4 weeks later with a broken time-setting (knob on side of watch), which was not broken when I had brought it in. I did not have them clean the watch because they wanted approximately $150 for this. When I took the watch back to let them know it must have been damaged in shipping or at the repair facility, they apologized and said they would send it back out to be repaired at no charge since it was damaged while in their posession. I decided at that point to go ahead with the cleaning as well, since it was going to be another 3 weeks before the watch would be returned to me, and I didn't want to end up sending it in a 3rd time.

A week later I received a call from Jared saying the new estimate with the cleaning was now $227.00. When I asked why such a large increase in a short amount of time, they admitted that they were now charging me for the repair as well as the cleaning. I again explained that the time-setting knob was working perfectly before I'd brought it in the first time, and that their repair shop must have damaged it or it possibly happened during shipping (which they were insured for, per my receipt).

The Salesperson, was extremely rude and said they had told me when they initially called with the cleaning estimate that the knob was broken. This was an outright lie. She said that I was just going to have to pay for the repair no matter what. This was an $800+ watch so they knew they had me between a rock and a hard place (what good is a watch if you can't set it for the correct time?).

I've never been treated with such blatant fraudulance and disregard, by another retailer in my life. It was the worst experience I've ever dealt with. Stay away from Jared in Maple Grove, MN!!!!
