Jason Mayer, of Jason Mayer Studios (www.jasonmayer.com) ripped us off for about $6,000 and will not refund our money.

We were strung along for about 6 months when we finally threatened to sue him, which was when his wife stepped in to try and smooth things out. Unfortunately, she eventually dropped the ball too.

What we hired, and paid him to do: Build us a home page, as well as four interior pages, with animated person (for searching health issues), setting us up with a shopping cart, integrating searchable databases. Our content for the site was news, video based... therefore we needed the ability to constantly update articles, videos, etc.

What we got: A non-working home page, with a copy & paste of the human figure from WebMd.com (this was our 'animated' figure), icons that were copy and pasted from another website, and not actually functioning, a video player that constantly scrolled videos from Left to Right without stopping, 1 inside page that was copied 3 times (thus making 4 pages). We were told that we would have to purchase Adobe Contribute for our CMS management with was an extra $300 (the problem with Adobe Contribute, is that YOU will literally have to create a new page of your site to make any additions (like add a recipe), You will have to manually create a link from your previous pages to your new page, plus add all the previous links to your new page, etc, etc.. just google it: is Adobe Contribute good for CMS?. You'll see.

We have a timeline of our emails with Jason, and what he is most famous for with us, is telling us we'd have something to look at in an hour.... then the next day we would get an email saying we'd have that by the afternoon at the latest.. then, two days later we would finally receive it.

We have the emails from his wife where we lay out in detail why Jason has not only cost us money, but have been set months behind schedule because of his inability to be honest with us as to what his capabilities are.

I contacted a lot of the people listed as credits on his site, the very simple ones such as the Georgia Wedding Officiant said "jason was great"... I don't doubt it, it's a really simple site. However, the coolest site (in my opinion) Domain De Canton said that someone else built it, and they wanted Jason's info.
