I decided to look into purchasing internet leads to help me meet more Life Insurance and investment clients. I made it a point to tell the sales person that I do not like to work with seniors and my clients are 50 years old and younger. I also said I just need Life Insurance leeds. When I sent the materials to compliance to be reviewed they told me that No body in our company is allowed to use Javelin Marketing and that there have been lawsuits in the past because it is a scam.
Then I asked different advisors I know form all over the country if they had heard of Javelin. Some had never heard of Javelin and the advisors who did know of Javelin told me to cancel immeidately because its a rip off!. They siad the leads they got were inquiring because they won a prize online(Javelin must sucker the prospects too).
I got a lead from Javelin and it was for a senior that was inquiring about a completely different subject than life insurance. (remember I told them NObody over 50 years old life inurance only) When I contacted Javelin to tell them I wanted my money back they refused(even though they knew in advance my company isnt allowed to use them). When my assistant called and started mentioning their previous lawsuits she was hung up on. I suggest using other outlets for leads and thoroughly check them out first.

FactChecker is indeed correct

They do sell life leads and I too am attempting to get my money back.
Out of the 51 leads I have gotten so far.....a big ZERO is the success ratio. I am not talking about appointments or sales or even a 2nd contact. I am talking about a legitimate, interested party.
Whether it is life, LTC, annuity or IRA/401k, not 1 single person has said they were actively seeking information. I actually managed to speak to 10 people who just happened to answer the phone. None had responded in a positive manner. No one was rude, but politely either said they remembered searching the internet for cosmetics or medicaid assistance or diabetes help, etc, etc. Or they never entered any personal contact details and how did I get their number? One person did say yes, they were looking for life insurance but that was 4 months ago and they got what they needed then. Obviously this was not a "fresh" or "exclusive" lead.
I even sent an email to my leads asking them to reply back with their experiences in the past several months. All I have for replies is they were NEVER looking for any type of insurance product or information - please don't call or email anymore.
And before someone (another employee, maybe who can spell??) responds how great SeniorLeads.com/Javelin leads are and I must be doing something wrong, I say this:
My regular occupation is life insurance marketing which I have been doing for 7 years - helping field agents to sell the correct product to their clients. I do know how to follow-up on prospects and I do know how to sell all lines of life/health. What I cannot do is kick water uphill.

There seems to be a matter of semantics here.
Perhaps at the time Mr. Richards posted (August, of 2008) his firm did not offer Life Insurance leads, but they certainly do now (May, 2009).
Proof? Copy and paste this url into your browser:
http://www.seniorleads.com/life-insurance-lead.html
This of course neither confirms or refutes the original discussion. It simply illustrates that doing due diligence on potential lead providers can involve more than just a cursory swallowing of anything someone says (either way).
I personally would like to see more comments from those who have used Javelin or its affiliate seniorleads.com.

Rip-off report has NO WAY to identify the identity of people leaving reports here and the report above is left by a person that does not identify themselves and the report is a lie (proof to follow). We have competitors who stoop to these types of tactics and we can prove that this is a bogus report.
The report says that the client registered for life insurance leads. If you look at our lead home page www.seniorleads.com, you will see that WE DON'T EVEN OFFER LIFE INSURANCE LEADS!!!!! NEVER HAVE.
So this report is a pure fabrication and anything can be fabricated here because again, rip-off report has no way to ascertain the validy or identity of any report or of the person leaving the rpeort. It can be posted by anyone and does not need to have a shread of truth. If someone does not like you, they can post a rpeot here saying anything they desire about you--ANYtHING!
