Chuck Engebretson's, Matt Schmit, Jim Christensen, Mark Kottke, Jean Miller Harasing phone calls trying to collect on a debt that was already paid off Sauk Rapids Minnesota

Just to let everyone know this outfit is a "Boiler room" collection Agency, meaning they buy "Junk" debt at pennies on the dollar and then they are 'ruthless' as they where with me when they tried to tell me that I owed on something that was just paid off anf refused to let off!
I just Google searched the: "THE FAIR DEBT CLLOCTION PRACTICES ACT" its 9 pages long and if you have access to a University you can usually print it up for free but well worth it because these scum bags have been getting away with alot of illegal crap and most people dont know it!
Under TITLE VIII-DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES, section 807. False or misleading representation[16USC1692e] "A debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section: (1) The false representation or implication that the debt collector is vouched for, bounded byor affilliliated with........ (2) The false representation of- (A) the character, amount, or legal status of any debt; or (B) any services rendered or compensation which may be lawfully recieved by any debt collecter for the collection of a debt. ,,,,,,
I you get these bothering you it is real important, even if you are the wrong person to "inform them in writing" and make sure it is a "certified mail with return reciept" for $4.50 thats just a cup of coffe at Starbucks and its well worth it! Remeber folks your not dealing with your Grandmother her these are just boilerroom sleezeballs who sit behind a computer and do not have a life except for that next quartyly bonus and the "LAW STATES IT HAS TO BE IN WRITING" In that letter simply DISPUTE that is not my bill or what ever the case , make the collector prove it.
Now to stop those pesky, annoying phone calls: TITLE VIII, section 805.Communication in conection with debt collectio[15USC1692c], sub-section(c) CEASING COMMUNICATION ""If a consumer notifies a debt collector 'in writing' that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with th consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except- (1) to advice the consumer that the debt collector's further efforts are terminated; (2) to notify the consumer that the debt collectoe or creditor may invoke specified remidies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or.......
Again this written notice to "youre not going to pay this 20 year old bill and to stop contacting me" should also be done by "certified mail with return reciept"
Then find out who in your State, which angecy that licenses and regulates thes collection agency. Then file a complaint with them because under Section 805 it is illegal for these guys to keep calling you at home "with the toannoy, harass, abbuse any person at the called number.
Then file a complaint with the FTC, they only monitor and will not do much but your state has direct control on there operation and you will have better luck{North Dakota they are Regulated by Dept. of Finacial Institutions}
