I bought my car at jd byrider in pensacola. On September 15 Hurricane Ivan hit here and destroyed my home and most of my posessions. It also made me lose time at work and meant having to use the little money we had to survive.

Two weeks after the disaster, going house to house, with my six year old daughter wondering what i was going to do; my car that I have been paying on for over two years was reposessed. With 9 months left to pay on it, I was told in order to get it back I would have to pay the balance owed: 3,600. "Yeah, I have that after missing weeks of work and losing almost everything right? WRONG"

Who would have thought people could have so little compassion? If thats not bad enough, while on the phone I was slandered and called a car thief; then hung up on by Walter Peters "Mr Professional I call my customers of two years car thiefs Finance Manager". His behavior was not only unprofessional but really hurtful in the aftermath of this disaster. I would definately not recommend anyone purchasing a vehicle from Jd Byrider.

In a time of need when people should be trying to help one another I was let down and belittled. Anyone with advice please help; because thanks to Walter Peters, not only do I not have a home, now I dont have a car either.

Setting the Record Straight!!!

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 02, 2005

Ms. Amanda Dennison - I have kept an eye on things in Florida, and we were glad we were able to work things out for you in the end in regards to your account.

Your initial response in regards to the disaster in Florida is understandable, anyone would be freaking out if their home had been destroyed. Now, as to people posting on this site previously in this complaint stating that they are the general manager, I am not sure why that has not been verified and disproved, but either way I would like to set the record straight.

Anytime an account is late to a finance company, there is concern as to the length of time allowed before action is taken; at JD Byrider, this repossession action was our last resort. We want the customers to succeed, not to fail.

Okay, the here and now is that you were able to redeem your car and pay it off!!! That is fantastic! We are glad that we were able to work with you in the end.

If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to contact us here at Byrider Customer Service. We are toll free (888.240.3595) and on the web too!

Thanks,
Michael Patrick

I had tried to repair my credit

AUTHOR: Ed - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 09, 2004

Honestly I had spent money trying to repair my credit. And had seen some benefit but not that much. Yes I make a lot of money and could buy a very good car cash. But I want to buy a house next year, and needed to improve my credit score. I was a 474 equifax before, and now am a 565, and climbing. Sure I am paying off some bills, but I think this loan is helping me more than anything.
I work here with people with very bad credit, but I usually need a goos $1500-3000 down. I find very few people with bad credit that can put much more than $500 down.
Do I think JD Byrider is a place everyone should go no. But they have sent me a few people that I was able to work with.
Believem me I am here to make money, and the money they make is incredible. But remember there are worse. Look at some of the stuff drivetime is putting on the road. And remember the buy here pay here's are probably the biggest rip off's. Also if you are so disgusted with JD Byrider, why not quit. There are plenty of jobs for car people in this town.
And by the way, I make bvery good money, and sometime on single deals, so if you want to just sell cars and not make much money, go to a place that does volume and invoice pricing.

Ed I'm a little confussed you make $75000.00 a year and know one but a JD Buyrider would sell you a car?? A Car that they paid no more than $3500.00 for and you paid $ 10000,00 plus around 21% interest for the next 3 years and you did this not because you wanted a car but that you wanted to rebuild your credit? I know what they pay for cars I Buy them and the mark up is 300 % higher than any car bought at that price and sold by any buy here pay here lots. Ed now you might not have a problem with the car you purchased but look in this web site there are hundreds of other people that have. THe JD Byrider that I work for wants me to buy the cheapest cars I can I buy 3 levels of cars the cheapest price I pay is around $1500.00 they are the so called line one cars and are marked up to around $6000.00k next are the line 2 cars I buy them for around $2500.00 and they are marked up to around $8000.00 and next I buy the line 3 cars JD Byriders top cars on there lots and I buy these cars for no more than $3500.00 and they are marked up to Around $10000.00 all of these cars are bought with around 100k miles . What I'm getting at is Ed you need to find another way to rebuild your credit JDByrider is not it!

I am a little confused that a general manager of JD Byrider will shooot his own company down. I think people need to remember they have a zero tolerance policy. I purchased a vehicle from them. Not that I needed the car, but becasue I needed to rebuild my credit. I make plenty of money ($75,000+), I am a car sales man, but could not get anyone to finance me. I pay my loan on time and make that before I even worry about paying my rent or food. WHY? because I am seeing this helping my credit. The loans they give are three year loans, and the rate is high, the price you pay for the car is a lot. But you are buying your credit back. I deal with people everyday that have been to buy here pay here dealers they get hurt even worse. If you want to talk about rip offs, then look at those guys, they are true rip off artists.

Hello Im sorry to hear what this JD Byrider did to you. If I was you I would contact the Atorney General Of Florida and report this as soon as you can, also I report them to the Department. Of Motor Veicles of the State of Florida ! For this company to not Work with you In the time of such great distruction dispair as Huricane Ivan has caused on Pensacola Florida Is a shame! Its the Same as someone over charging a person during a time of great dispair like this and it is against the law and this should be also. This Pensacola J.D. Byrider should be shut down along with all the others in Florida. They buy these cars for no more than $3500 and mark them way up and then charge 20-25% for three years for a grande total of around $13000- $15000 they sell you on the Idea that your getting a 18000 -24000 mile warranty which you do get wow wee !! people save up $3500 and go buy you a nice car with around 100k and there out there I know for a fact the money you will save in three years (Around $ 10000.00 will buy you a lot of motors and Transmissions in three years there are other ways to build your credit other than being riped off like good old JD Byrider does people !Each JD Byrider store sells and average of 50-60 cars a month and each one of these JD Byrider Stores at nets a profit of around $10000.00 dollars on each car over a three year term . So that is about $ 600,000 a month if they sell 50-60 cars a month and they do!!There are over 400 JD Byrider Stores in the USA !! Do The Math!! There making a ton of money on these $ 3500 dollar cars there selling poor bad credit people that are out there looking for some kind of hope. People this company is not the answer to your dreams of restoring your credit! They will only help dig you a bigger hole like This Pensacola JD BY RIDER did for this poor lady!! My Prayers go out to you and your little girl during this time of suffering and loss ! Hope I was somekind of help Kevin
