JDBYRIDER in Orlando took advantage of my situation. I had a car repoed and needed a car desperatly. They bullied me into buying a car and made me feel like this was my only chance of getting a car with my financial problems. The salesman got mad at me when i questioned them. I was only allowed 2 choices of cars to pick from. I was not allowed to pick what I wanted. Now I was sent a registered letter from the court stating my car was involved in a crime before I owned it and they are issuing a warrant for my car to be turned into them on May 15, 2007.

I was not informed of that my car was involved in a crime when I purchased it. Now I contacted them and they have an attorney trying to get it thrown out of court since the owner of the car at that time does not own it now and I do not know this person, but I believe they are trying to cover JD Byrider more than helping me. I am trying to find out what to do from here and what can I do. Is there any legal stand for me and should I obtain a lawyer of my own and pursue a civial matter against JD Byrider? Can anyone help me?

Here is what most likely happened.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

JD takes in cars in trade and the title is left open, which apperas to the courts and the motor vehicle dept that the car is still in that persons name.

And, WHO is the car supposed to be turned in to, the court or JD?

You need to go to the motor vehicle office and file a complaint against JD for not properly completing the sale.

How much time was there between you buying the vehicle, and you getting the notice?

Also, were you behind on payments?

If your car was involved in a crime, it should have already been impounded and sold at auction. Maybe that is where JD got it from?

Are you absolutely current on payments now? First you should check with the court yourself to see if this is for real. Don't use any phone number on the letter, look it up yourself. Sometimes bill collectors mail out decpetive letters. It may be an attempt to repo the car.

Assuming that this is for real, which is highly unlikely but I suppose it could happen, they have sold a car without clear title. You do have legal standing. You can demand all your money back and (only after you have it) return the car to the dealer so they can give it to the court or fight the court to keep it. It wouldn't matter to you because you have your money back. Or, at your option, you could let them substitute another car.

"JD Byrider took advantage of MY situation". "I had a car repoed". "They BULLIED me". "..they made me feel...". "The salesmen got mad at me..". "...my only chance...". "I was not allowed...". "I was not informed...". The car was involved in a crime. I give up, what does that mean? Did it rob a bank? Girl, stand up for yourself. Stop playing the perpetual victim. Develope a spine. I agree about the attorney, IF they sold you a vehicle without clear title, they're on the hook. I'd be screaming and demanding a nice new vehicle to replace the one the police "stole" from me because jd byrider sells "hot" cars to innocent law abiding customers like me.
