J.D. Marvel Products Heartless Ripoff Artists for treatment of my Mother liars! Hawkesbury Ontario *UPDATE.. AKA Canadian Mail Order Exchange ..& CDN Mail Order Exchange ..& ClearPoint Direct.com

My Mother ordered a Bell & Howell 9 Band Radio, cost $29.95 from J.D. Marvel Product Inc. She sent a cheque for $42.40 on Oct.23rd./02, and the cheque was promptly cashed on Oct.29th/02.

Mom never received the radio by mid-December,2002, so she made four (4) phone calls to J.D. Marvel at 514-426-8715. On each occasion, she was placed on hold for over 15 minutes and then a real person operator would come on and tell Mom that the call could not be transferred at this time and to try again later. Even though Mom would explain that these long distance calls were costing a lot of money, they would invariably tell her that all the lines were busy, and they would put her on hold. Then, they would abruptly cut her off the line with no explanation as to the status of her order.

As I write this, it is noted that there are 1071 complaints against J.D.Marvel Products at www.badbusiness.com from June17/01 to Jan 25/03. That is an average of 56 complaints just to this site, and that does not cover the poor customers who are unaware of this site or customers who do not have access to a computer

These scum-bags seem to prey on the elderly because they know that the elderly do not have the capability to follow-up properly when they are duped by such a dispicable company.

I don't know how such a company can stay in business and not have any fraud charges laid against them. It's too bad that they haven't been investigated and had their licence to operate suspended, or even better, taken away altogether. It's only with sites like this that the message can get out to people and warn as many as possible of the corrupt and ruthless methods employed by the J.D.
