We had an awful experience with a "photographer" we were going to hire for a family portrait. Her name is Jeanette Runyon. We got her name online and didn't research her - BIG mistake! It would have been bad enough had it just been my husband and myself at this crazy ladies house (no real studio as it turned out), but it was worse. We had our infant son with us!
When I spoke to her on the phone, she implied that she ran a full service studio. In reality, she an older lady, in her 60s or 70s, has an amateur quality camera and some old pull down backgrounds in a dark little house.
As soon as we got there, Jeanette asked to hold our son. Well, she became extremely creepy as soon as she was holding our baby. She started rambling about going to Ukraine a few years ago to "adopt a baby", but the US & Ukrainian governments were out to get her and had taken the baby from her. We very quickly determined that we would NOT be using her services.
Well, my husband and I became very nervous. I kept reaching for my baby and she kept laughing and bouncing him and dancing around with him. Jeanette. became more and more manic. FINALLY I got my son back and headed straight for our car saying I needed to look for his bink.
As if all this wasn't upsetting enough. She is trying to steal from us too. Jeanette had insisted that we mail her a $100 deposit to "hold the day" for us. When my husband made our excuses for leaving, he asked for the check back. Jeanette said that she had accidentally put it though the washing machine so there was no check to give back. This was Sunday. My husband checked with the bank Monday morning and Jeanette HAD in fact, cashed the check Friday morning! He is working with the bank to get our money back.
While this isn't the biggest reason to avoid Jeanette Runyon, it is worth mentioning that she made several comments to us about "the blacks" here in North Carolina.
Steer clear of this old lady and her game!

I cannot believe this freakshow, Jeanette Runyon, is still out there ripping people off! Many of us in Lexington are very familiar with this woman and her violent outbursts. Google her. She's a convicted criminal. She has decades of trouble with the law, not the least of which being a conviction for lying to federal agents!
Her own family acknowledges publicly and under oath that Jeanette has been involuntarily institutionalized. Jeanette's family is currently suing her to end her years of abuse.
Just look at the people she has taking up for her here! Paul Lemmen is ALSO A CONVICTED CRIMINAL!! According to Wikipedia, Paul Lemmen is a military impostor and convicted criminal, specializing in fraud. The fact that he and Jeanette are close friends PROVES that she is a shady person to be avoided at all costs!!
The business was actually started by Larry Woolslayer. He’s a really nice guy who shacked up with Runyon for a few years. He left her long ago but she still uses his business name & pretends to be in a relationship with him.
Steer clear of this crazy old lady or you’ll be sorry. Even if she doesn’t rip you off, no one needs that kind of crazy in their life!

My son was the last newborn to be photographed in Jeanette's studio that was three years ago. Whoever wrote that "review" is a liar, the studio is HUGE she never asked for a $100.00 check and she was professional the whole time. When she took my son’s photos she was using a Nikon D3 that was a $5000.00 camera hardly one an amateur would use

This is a fake report by a cyber-stalker. I never heard of this "couple" I photograph newborns in people homes and I can tell this person has never seen my camera nor been to my studio; as I have a top of the line Canon and before that I had the top of the line Nikon I have never asked for 100.00 check to hold the spot. Just another smear by someone who needs a life

I know Jeanette Runyon and the fact regarding this complaint is that this is part and parcel of a campaign of online harassment of Jeanette. This includes google-bombing her, twitter attcaks and false and defamatory complaints filed against her.
This is all in retaliation for Jeanette taking a stand against Kate Hunt, the convicted l*****n pedophile convicted in Florida of sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl. These folks will sink to any low to attack Jeanette.

We are an entity that was obtained by Ms. Runyon to determine the identity and aid in finding solution to deal with a high degree of harrasment that she has been enduring as of late in various social mediums.
This person making this false report is obviously the same person that has been harrasing Ms. Runyon.
Ms. Runyon had no such client visit her and will be taking legal action to end the harrasement which she has endured.
Filing false reports cheapens the value that this site provides and lessens its legitimacy.
An arbitration request will be filed here. Ms. Runyon will submit all necessary documentation to this site and expects the person who filed this false claim ot do the same.
There will be legal action also as the identity of the person who has been harrasing Ms. Runyon is known to us and her case will be going legal.
