started in feb i was looking for a place to rent i came across 205  w.122nd ave tampa fl 33612,saw sign for rent,called it i wanted to look at sure enough we sat date to see owner jeff curtis 2700.00 for renting this place has and additional apt ,,,well soon after i asked my husband to see we liked jeff said we needed to sbmt appl, with in those day of having the appl we had a death in the family i called him i believe i left him a voice mail apologizing,which i dont believe he called me back i believe a week or so pass by i was believing well he didnt response so i thought maybe he had someone else interested in the house +, went drove by saw sign still up, i called him he said he had an open house prior to my apologize, so i was believing then he could of had someone that wanted to rent it,so i called him we had a lost in the familly i said to him if he had or someone was interested to go for it, because he did say someone was interested in buying not renting so there goes that line to get you to be more interested im conscious of the first light will lite you up, so i called him and asked him after these weeks went by i asked him if still available that we really was interested we wanted to rent if possible,thats when he said we needed to sbmt an appl, we meet soon after that i told him we would give him 1000. $ so that he wouldnt think that we was just trying him or anything bad just to give him security we really  was interested in renting i told him all and the reason we needed and liked the property, he was ok at all time after this last meeting he kept stressing verbally he needed his rent to be paid on time, that he would not be reasonable that his rented needed to be paid on time, one week after i called him suggesting and asking if possible he would let us start moving my husbands trailer he was ok but he wanted the rest of the deposite and he demanded cash ?why ? i didnt questioned it because we didnt see any wrong doing then he then said he would email me the lease, he had already had the appl and the the one thousand dollars, prior to running our appl, ok on our last meet i requested he brings in lease by the 15th we all agreed it would be rented him to us and us from him, comes that day he dont have the lease prior to meet i called or txted him requesting i wanted to walk the house and apt with a check list to see if anything needed to be repaired or whatever, i do the walk thru apt needs to be painted and cleaned i said to him in a sarcastic way that we would paint and clean it, but i was never clear with him this would happen i was joking when i told him we would do, i will not pay anywhere 2700.$$ rent and have to go in there and paint and clean for that price no no sir,e the next morning i called left a voicemessage requesting to have the apt ready and that it wouldnt be occupied until the 29th,but i really needed done, and since we had already dicussed us wanting to start moving in things a little at a time because we work and not enough time so we requested if possible, we never demanded he was always demanding im starting as i type this report there is a reason why he demanded cash the last time ...oh and when i gave him the first 1000.$ soon after that he kind of was acting wierd he said he was thinking about it or had doubts so i questioned him so if you have doubts of renting us why did you cash the check, he had no legit answer so he said in a text ok lets do this i will meet with you on the 15th and i want 1700.00 cash demanding so again had wrote out a check and kept it i went to our bank and withdrawl the cash,i got receipts and all to all this we never signed he never stressed to me verbally or written that my money would not be refundable he scammed us from our money he called me a liar,deshonest,bullshitter said i never had the money in our last meet which was this pass wednesday 2/22/2012,,, we before we meet he knew of some repairs and the apt condition i told him that day 2/22, i would transfer $ to what ever acct info he would provide me with which he did that same night on thursday the following day that when i called him left voice msge asking he do the apt and the screens that where ripped i would like for them to be repaired his response on a text was i email the lease, and no transfer as of yet, no response to my requested on repairs to all this i was already upset he had been so demanding i felt he didnt trust us so...he send a text that he was not able and that why was i demanding for something that would cost him too much money i have all the texts he sent me insulting me, all i questioned him in all that was why if he felt we didnt meet his criteria financially he would agree to rent us take our money cash chech while having second thoughts and demanding cash money and that rent be paid on time no other concern then that so i mention at one time that and its the way i feel if not 99% sure of something i wont do it, he had his doubts all i believe at this time is that he had well planned to rip us from our money allegations on his part is that he put on hold for us when at all times after he took the first 1000.$$ we had communication never once we didnt lost contact so like i said to him we are hard working,loving,honest people and family we mean no harm to no one so we, i will not let him get away with taking our money that we work hard for ...with this beening said he intentionally ripped us off and this is not the last he will hear from us.....not right no law or document from his behalf that i owe him while negotiating to rent and no terms signed, that he can keep my money...l
