I gave Jeff a job before Christmas. We did all the paperwork and went over everything. He immediately started giving me excuses for days he would be gone (in jail on day, car doesn't work, aka the world has it out for him). Nothing was moving along so I went to security gate to get times he was coming in. He would come in for like 2-4 hours a day, only a couple days a week. I work in two locations so I couldn't check on him daily.
Eventually, we talked and he said he would be willing to finish a couple things and square up for the remainder. The next day, I went to the job site and everything is gone. I have been calling and texting him for a couple weeks, and I can see that he read all the texts... no response.
In addition to that, he subed out the painting for part of it. I have been getting calls from that guy that Jeff has disappeared. The part he painted himself looks like something a 5 year old could do. I had to pay to get that all redone.
Do not hire this guy. He isn't a bad talker and comes off as an alright guy. However, he is just another bitter, self-pitty idiot.

Jeff got back to me after he fell into a family emergency. I was probably too quick to write that. He gave me most of the money back while completing everything he needed to on my job.
He has also done work for me since.
