I  Purchased an apartment complex in Western Kansas that had previously leased out the laundry facility area to Jetz Services. I called them and asked if there was a contract. They indicated there was and that the contract was for 10 years. I explained that I purchased the property and wasn't interested in a contract of that length, and that the original contract had expired. I was then told that the contract automatically renews if not cancelled in writing within 90 days of the 10 year anniversary. I was asked to sign another contract to "update the information" of the new owners; but was told again i had no choice, as the contract had 9 years remaining.That's #1

#2 is that the machines are old and unreliable. We have room for just one set of appliances; and they have completely broke down 3 times in the last year. I understand that anything mechanical breaks, eventually. I think if the machines were serviced and not so old they would be more reliable.

#3 Each time the machines have broke down, it has been 5+ days to get them fixed. Not only that, they have an automated machine answering the telephones and you have to leave a message. And they NEVER call you to give you an ETA. In other words, I have to tell my residents "I called them, I have no idea when you can wash your laundry". It has taken a week to fix the junk machines before. My residents are accustomed to great service (same day HVAC repairs, water heater issues and etc) but are forced to travel to a laundry mat several times per year!

I am in talks with the BBB and my attorney to see if I can get out of this contract that I never wanted. The biggest issue is that the machines are junk, takes to long to fix and i have no choice without the fear of being sued. If you sign a contract with them, get ready to be at there mercy. Jetz Service=horrible. It doesn't help at all with resident retention.
