Bel Air Jiffy Luber #116 suggested they replace and fill my radiator fluids while changing my oil.

A few days later my car overheated and broke down on the interstate.

I had the vehicle towed to the dealer who  found a white pasty substance throughout the radiator, which caused the thermostat and water pump to fail.

I had to pay to have the dealer replace the radiator, water pump and flush the system.

The head gasket is not blown and the oil in the engine is clean.

It appears that the white pasty substance in the radiator is a chemical reaction caused by whatever was poured into the radiator by Jiffy Lube during the radiator flush service.

Jiffy Lube says that this could not have been caused by them.

To me, it is only logical that whatever they did is the only reason for the chemical reaction, overheating of the radiator and costly repair at the dealer.

They have completely blown me off and have taken no responsibility.

They have no defense in the matter.

On the other hand, I have the failed radiator, water pump, and sample of the fluid along with many photos of what it looked like.

I feel "human error" is the reason for the contamination, on the part of their employees, and I have much evidence to support this, and yet, they have said it is not their problem.

Please be careful when using the Maryland franchise owned Jiffy Lubes.

While YOU may think that THEY contaminated your fluid, there is this little thing called chemistry that refutes your opinion. See all they would have done is a radiator flush and filled it with the appropriate fluids. What chemistry is telling me is that it looks like someone put in a radiator sealant. This is used when a radiator has some minor leak. Jiffy would be responsible for putting in FRESH radiator fluid, but THEY would not have used a radiator sealant. So it sounds like YOU are a victim of whoever put that sealant in your vehicle. I would suggest to you that you ask anyone else who drives the vehicle if they didn't put something in and just didn't tell you. If others don't drive your car, then it was the PREVIOUS radiator work you would have had done that has caused this. Im all for making those who have done wrong pay, but I feel YOU are just lashing out at the LAST people who did any work on your vehicle. The chemicals had some form of reaction but it wouldn't have been Jiffy who did it. You need to look elsewhere on this one for resolution, as Jiffy is right. I would also suggest to YOU that someone is screwing with YOUR car when you are not around. A friend of mine has looked at your pictures and suggests that it looks like someone put something in your vehicle AFTER the change.
