Took my 2002 f-150 pickup into the dealership for my check engine light being on and my overdrive light flashing on the gearshift lever. they called back about 3 hours later and told me it would be an 89.00 dollar charge for the diagnostic, i approved that and got a call about 2 hours later saying that they found a bad coil pack on cylinder #1, and told me it would be 531.00 to fix, i approved that charge they said it should be ready the next morning.  the next morning they called me and said that the mechanic road tested it and just as he was about to pull back into the dealership that the motor began running rough again, they stated it would be another 89.00 diagnostic charge to see why, well by this time i am getting a bit upset to say the least. After some consideration i approved THAT charge, 3 hours later another call saying that #2 and #3 coil packs were bad and it would be 1100.00 dollars to replace them, i have yet to approve that charge because i believe by the time we are done we are going to have to replace all 8 coil packs with multiple diagnostic charges, by the way i did ask how much to do all 7 together and its a grand total of 2234.00. This is not calculating the transmission problem that they have not even check out yet, i assume when they get to that point it will be another 89.00 diagnostic charge, it seems to me i should be only responsible for one diagnostic charge for the whole repair because they should have seen the repair codes the first time they put the scanner on my truck. any comments or advice you have would be great.
