I don't know anything about those stupid balls he makes but I can tell you this. I rented from the guy once in the 90's out there on his property out in Buda and the guy basically just wanted someone to work for free. He had me doing carpentry, plumbing, putting in fenceposts, taking care of his animals and just being an all around fix it guy for anything and everything that went wrong with the place. He promised me that in return I would always have a place and cheap rent, but as soon as all the work was done he threw me out.
I wouldn't trust the guy if he was the last person left on earth. That place out there in Buda wasn't barely livable even after all the work I did, he seems to think he can charge ridiculously high rent or trade indentured servitude. The guy wants a slave not a tenant, if you're thinking of dealing with him I have one word of advice; RUN!

I wonder what agreement (rent, work, etc) you came to before you posted this report. No mention of rent amount vs. work amount vs. meals. Jim is a great guy who helped me out of a jam once and I bet he's being shafted by you for trying to help you out. I'm sure he'll never do it again.
