I went to Jim M'Lady Nissan recently to purchase a car earlier this month.  I went in at around 8pm.  I went in going in that I might not get approved.  I had picked out a car and the sales manager had ran my credit report and had told me (guaranteed me) that I would me approved.  He something along the lines that the bank he was going to get the loan from owed him a favor (which I thought was bs).

After we agreed on a price we went over to the finance mgr Mr Murphy.  Which I had to wait for aleast 30mins.  I shouldn't have to because I was the only custumer in the dealership or atleast in the show room area.  He had finally came in to his office and the first thing I noticed was he had been drinking.  I had overheard one of the mgrs telling one of the salesman to call mr. murphy back to the dealership to finish up my paperwork.

When I took the car home, I had a feeling that someone from the dealership was going to call me back to tell me to return the car I had taken home because the loan did not go thru. A couple days later, sure enough that sales mgr call me that the loan did not go thru.  He wanted to try to sell me another car and wanted me to put more money down.  I ended up taking a car I really didnt need but at the time I didnt have a car so I took a car that cost less, otherwise I would have left.  So much for that guarantee he gave me that for my first choice.

I will never go back to Jim M'lady Nissan again even if it kills me.  I will tell anyone that will listen about the experince with the sales mgr and Mr. Murphy.

I Mean What Did You Expect?

I hate car dealers as much as the next guy BUT, you went in at 8PM, which is probably pretty close to closing time, your credit sucks, which you knew before you went in, they had to call the F&I guy BACK to the dealership. For all you know he could have been gone for the day, at home, having a drink after a long day. "I ended up taking a car I didn't need, but at the time I DIDN'T HAVE A CAR. That doesn't make a whole lotta sense. You didn't need a car because you didn't have one. OK. They got you into a less expensive vehicle, so what's the problem? When you tell everyone about your terrible experience at that dealership, don't forget any of the other details.

What crap!

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

What this dealer did to you is known as "spot delivery."  This is when the dealer will let you take a vehicle even though financing is NOT SECURED-there is no financing/loan agreement.  NEVER, ever accept any attempt by any dealer to "spot deliver" a vehicle to you.  If the financing CANNOT be secured or is denied simply walk away from the deal.

Perhaps the employee who posted the rebuttal would kindly explain WHY this dealership CHOOSES to perform spot deliveries?

All Efforts are made

While we attempt to make every effort to get approval from the banks on auto loans, it is always based on credit. We do not approve nor deny any credit, we simply supply the information to the banks for financing. We try to supply as much information in order to get the bank to approve it. If a bank denies the loan for a expensive car, then we will attempt to do everything to get you into a less expensive car.
