J&J Autoworks James Thomas LIES, EMPTY PROMISES, DEGRADING SERVICE~~~ Honolulu Hawaii

Person James Thomas is the worst experience I have ever had when it comes to doing business. I was interested in repairing my car. I had extensive damage. Estimate ranged from 2300.00 - 5,000.00. I did have an intial sit down in order to get an estimate on my car repair. I was very excited because my car was damaged for some time and only now I was able to afford some repairs.

I first met with James "Jay" during the first week of april 2009 he provided an estimate of the work just to repair the damage of 2300.00. as time goes on he says maybe i should paint the whole car. I go down a second time to just give him a check to show I was serious about the work.Time passed and I attempted to get ahold of him basically everyday in order to finalize the deal in order to get my car worked on.

If I did get him live on the phone he would brush me off and tell me that he is busy with another customer. He always said he would call me back and never did. Never updated me or set a date for me to visit the shop and set the car up for the appointment to complete the work. I finally got fed up and emailed him.

"I am not sure what exactly I should do from this point besides to just notify you that I had placed a stop payment on the check because I was uncertain if we still had a deal. I feel like you did not pursue business from me and brushed the transaction off. I called you many of times with little response and effort on your part.

I feel like I deserve a response from this email explaining to me why you never took responsibility of calling me and following up with me. You have my number also my email address. I am upset and frustrated with your business practices. I admit that I told you I would be going down to your shop on Sat. But I then realized, why am I trying so hard to pursue you when I am paying for your services.

I feel your ad on craigs list is false advertisement being that you advertise military 30% off services and you don't. Which I didn't have a problem with till now. I figure I would tell you everything that I am unhappy with maybe so you can provide better services to other people that come to you with a huge amount of money for investing into their babies."

He then follows up with a call stating "my son was sick" So i decided to go ahead and give him another chance. I go back to the lil beat down rusty shop with one of my friends to get their opinion on the color. I ask james "how is your son doing?" He basically tells me his son isn't in Hawaii. I think to myself why did he not call me.

He can't take care of his son out of country. Then I write out an additional check but I placed a stop payment on the previous check. Being that I trust people I gave him a check for 2500.00 and a check for 1000.00. One check was for the first down and 1000.00 was seperate for the body kit order. He was adimit on me picking a body kit from where he wanted me to buy from. More time passes we are going into more then a month of him telling me it will be done and no calls to follow up unless I am calling him.

I also did research online on his shop to find out his work is worthless!!! Cars aren't even primed, door jams were spray painted and shows drips, also that he repairs the damage parts and charges customer for new parts, basically alot of shady business. After I started to really think about everything that led up to the day I no longer have any trust in him to get the job done right. I placed a stop payment on my checks and I did nothing.

I recenlty after a week and a half later from him telling me he will call me tomorrow. He finally does call me. He leaves a message as to if I ordered the kit which I wasnt going to he was suppose to look for it. I never called him because I no longer wanted to deal with him. Then he tried to cash the checks and they dont clear He is mad called my cell and left messages and also harassing me at work!! Telling my co-workers that they are wasting his time asking to speak with my supervisors. I then email him

" am not returning your call NOT as A means to show you a lesson. I am no longer interested in doing business with you. I don't feel I should have to explain but I will.

reasons why I am no longer interested in doing business with you:

You say you will follow up with me tomorrow (even after I advise you of the fustration of you not returning my calls you still don't fix the problem) you don't call until the week after

You are not trust worthy (you have lied to me about why you don't call me back)

You said your son was sick (reason for not getting back to me) when I ask how your son was you said good and then you say he isn't even within the US. He was in Germany or some European country.

You told me you were working on getting the kit. Then I have a voicemail telling me if i ordered the kit.
I also researched your shop and your quality of work.
From different people I herd that you dont prime cars,you spray paint door jams and you dont order new parts but just try to bang out the dents so you can keep the money from the parts. Also if a person would like you to redo work THE YOU HAVE COMPLETED it takes forever for you to do the work if you even do it. (for ex. calling me back and getting my car in) So I cant say i dont believe them.

I saw a sneaky thing also that you pose as a person that got their car done with you and in the ad and site it says that the work is so great and its basically an advertisement. You posing as a happy customer.
Also I really like how you still advertise your shop when u are suppose to be so busy and have a lot of people to work on their cars. (to ask for more business when you can't even keep up with the orders you have) and you are an ad addict. You are posted everywhere. (mostly free sites)

PLEASE DON'T CALL ME AT WORK!!!! I DONT APPRECIATE IT. THERE IS A REASON I DONT PICK UP MY PHONE. YOU HAVE MY EMAIL ADDRESS.USE IT!"

He responds by email

"miss RA(took my name out placed my initials),, lets cut the chase,, u wish have money to have a nice car,2 u cancelled 3 bounce cheacks payments with me and i told u i ordered the parts that i cant return, 3, i told u i cant get the kit u wanted that cost to much for u and they only had outher ones that u didnent want,, hello what u waiting on!!!,,4 i go out of my way and sent u to my best friends shop to look at your car for free 'all trans" and u dont even say thanks,,, maybe we should bill u,,,4 i help u out and take time to show u colors for your car and take time with u, 5 someone hater hates me on the on the internet and bads mouth me and with no proof u get sucked in,,, and ya,police investagators are on it!!!6 u have a contract, and ill give u a chance to at least buy the parts off me,,,,if u decide to burn me, , 7 , . 8 we can make this all go away if u just come down here and see whats going on and if u wanna still not repair your car then tell me in person,,i dont have any problems with u, just really your whole scam dont work with people like me,, i have never had problems with anyone,,,and never wanted no make problems with anyone,but if u talking u wanna teach me a lesson,, lady,make my day,what should i do????? ill teach u how to get your prioritys stright! your email helps out everything...........thank u and have a great day,, your friend still"

He then forwards my email I sent to him back to me with a reply of
"look at u go girl o ya,,,aloha aina ,,,hawaiians at large,,,,its all good,,, stiil got your stuff,freak eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" I dont know what this means if he is trying to say something about Hawaiians, I am unsure.

So please be aware and DON'T do business with him.
