Joe Willis JMW Enterprise LLC Took my money and didn’t finish the job Malvern Pennsylvania

In November of 2017 my fiancée and I hired Joe Willis of JMW Enterprises to renovate our home at 227 Stoughton Circle in Exton, PA. Willis provided us with a typed statement of work totaling $108,000.00. Willis required us to pay $40,000.00 up front to begin work, $55,000.00 when dry walling began and $13,000.00 upon completion. In the written statement were budgeted amounts for appliances, countertops, fixtures, etc. We didn't sign the paperwork and none of the company information was listed. In January of 2018, we began to notice some problems with orders and work. We questioned Willis about this and he told us we were fine and on budget. We kept asking Willis when the work would be completed and he didn't have a date. Work slowed to a crawl in March. In mid April we received a bill from Willis for an additional $18,000.00 that he demanded we pay before he would continue any work. As of 4/23/18, we received notice from our vendors and the sub-contractors that the bills have not been paid by Willis. Currently there is approximately $32,000.00 of unpaid bills and counting. I have tried to talk with Willis about this but he is unavailable. We recently learned that JMW Enterprises contractor license expired on 9/30/2013. He renewed the license on 4/24/2018. He did not provide us any information and declined to provide me with his information for days. The house is not habitable and requires too much work.
