On 1/30/18, I went into the Jacksonville, Florida John Beck Insurance office to explain my insurance policy should have been cancelled 1/15/18 for non-payment on the due date as the vehicle is no longer in use. Jim a worker for the company stated not only could he not back date the policy to the 15th, but stated he would need me to provide proof I turned in the tag and or shows proof the vehicle was sold etc. to cancel the policy on that date. I then educated him on in the state of Florida you don’t have to turn in your tag when a vehicle is no longer in use, nor do I have to sell or turn over a non-working vehicle to anyone.

I merely let the insurance company know I no longer need the service and to cancel the policy.  Jim was extremely rude to me and tried to sale me the narrative again. Mr. Jim is either incompetent or have no true knowledge of DMV laws or the insurance industry. It was apparent he was not going to listen to me, so I politely walked out and as I walked away, he proceeded to discuss my insurance questions out loud with colleagues instead of helping the next customer. This further proves he is mentally unstable and extremely unprofessional. I have worked with John BECK Insurance companies in the past and I have never been treated like this ever by anyone.

I’m asking the company to give him training on customer service, ensure he is updated on DMV laws etc. I guarantee you if had an accident 1/16/18 the company would have had no problem back dating the policy for nonpayment. I understand if the policy can’t be back dated but, don’t lie and make up reasons the policy can’t be back dated. Just say unfortunately the request can’t be processed, then give valid reasons why. Don’t tell me I have to turn my tag in or sale my vehicle as this is not true.  Policy Number: 2005180790
