My wife and I worked for Butler of Charlotte under the supervision of John Crowell. We recieved the work from a friend who had worked for him for over a year so we assumed all would be fine. John is a very nice person and fun to work with but getting paid can be difficult.
We had tip money that was given to us on the bill by clients, which was in turn to be given to us in our payment from John. Two Parties and three seperate tips have not been paid to us for parties several months old. In addition my wife and I catered a Christening for the Butler of Charlotte, both a dinner party and a brunch. We were told that we would be paid on January 30th.
By the time the following Monday after the 30th came around all we recieved was an email stating that "he was in a holding pattern." With no indication as to what that was or how long we would have to wait we tried contacting him with no luck.
Now with over a month having passed and over 50 unreturned phone calls, many unreturned email messages, and even a trip to his home with a letter I have still not been paid the money I am owed and neither has my wife. I have been far more patient than I believe most people would be and even though I cannot afford to be patient I did so because I believed him to be a good person.
I was sent an email in response to my trip to his home asking me to send him my mailing address so that he could send me payment or as he said "take care of it" but four days later I have still not recieved anything in the mail. My efforts to call him and write him in regards to this have come back with nothing.
I know that I did excellent work as did my wife because we were told so repeatedly. There is no reason why we should have not been paid. There is no reason for the lack of communication. I don't want others to fall into this same trap of trust that I did. The Butler of Charlotte has not paid its employees.

I am a victum of this loser John Crowell. Since the laws protect him, what I did was take the law into my own hands and its 100% legal. I wrote all the people who I worked for, which was an embarrasment to him since one was his church and two long term friends of his. I printed the following Rip off reports to show I was not telling a lie and told them I was not paid at all by "your friend" and he apparently does this all the time. One party I did they had not used his services before but was so impressed with us I knew they would call again or refer, I made sure they knew he did not pay his employees and told them the lie he made me state when I was there " that you have worked for me for a long time and this is not your first time" He wanted that lie cause the dumb man never even met me, he just called me and sent me to this house, I could have a criminal record ( I do not) but you get the idea. So my advice is try and remember where he sent you and write everyone you worked for and let them know the money they paid him never made it to your and anyones hands instead in his own pocket.
And good luck, you will not get your money ever, he is a thief, and I am so happy there is a special place for people like him and its pretty hot there.
