Avoid this company and the owner as I became an affiliate along with 40 others and enrolled clients into their debt settlement program for credit cards. We all signed an extesive contract (2 of them) and after many clients were enrolled after 6 mo's he stopped paying us. His excuse was that he had a problem with his partner and he will pay but we need to be patient. After several broken promises and no phone calls to keep us posted I was concerned as it was my only source of income and i worked so hard to get to the monthly risidual income of 1800 a month.
I was behind on my mortgage and had quit my prior job to go independant as the pay was much higher per client. I finally filed for unemployment and he fought it and told me now i am not going to pay at all, because I terminated employment with him! unemployment granted me eligability(thank god), but now my house is in forclosure due to his non-payments and broken promises. I tried contacting him about pay but he was in Hawaii. What a snake.
Now he will just kick back and enjoy all of the revenue to himself. My customers also call me and complain about the service they are not getting and blame me for enrolling them. I worked for 500 a month the past 6 mos and am losing my home. Do yourself a favor and don't sign on with this guy. Big promises and no pay for the affiliates who did all of the work.

#6 UPDATE Employee
You're confused
AUTHOR: John - (United States of America)

The entire basis of your complaint does not make sense. I've been an independant contractor with New Horizons Debt Settlement for approximately a year and a half, and have never had a problem getting paid. In fact, just like many others who made the transition from another financial industry, I had been struggling financially and John went out of his way to make sure I was paid on debt settlement and loan mod clients. It's my understanding that you had taken John to small claims and lost, because your claim is baseless. If you left the company after building up $1,800 in residuals, what would happen if your clients dropped out of the program and charged their fee back? You don't sound like you'd be in a position to write a check to return your commission. I recently had a client charge back approximately $5,000 in enrollment fee which EFA charged to John, which meant that I was charged back a percentage of the commission that I'd earned. Did it suck, absolutely, but it's an example of the risk that John takes on if he pays contractors on commissions if they are not still brining in clients. You stated yourself that you terminated your employment with him, in what field do ex-employees continue to get paid after they quit?
You also mentioned that your clients are calling you and complaining about the service they are getting, have you supplied them with the customer service line? During the enrollment process all clients should be provided with the customer service phone number at EFA Processing and the log in information to the Customer Tool Box, where many of their questions can be answered. EFA Processing has been recogized as one of the top debt settlement processing companies in the country and that is who NHDS is affiliated with.
I'm sorry you're losing your home, it's a horrible process to go through. However, instead of going online and defaming someone, maybe you should take some responsibility for quiting a full time job to get into an independant contractor position, which you ended up quitting as well.

REBUTTAL BY JOHN MOGAR TO THIS REPORT

The person that wrote this report is STEVE MCDANIEL from Riverside, CA! His employment was terminated (evidenced by the fact that he filed for unemployment), but for some reason he believed he should continue to be paid after he was terminated! His complaint is filled with inaccuracies and lies. As an example, he states that he was an Independent Contractor which is correct. He then states that he was awarded unemployment which is a lie. As you know, Independent Contractors are not eligible for unemployment benefits!!
He also states that 40 others joined New Horizons with him and now none of them are being paid. This to is a complete distortion of the truth. I am not aware of even one Affiliate that has joined New Horizons that was a acquaintance of or that was referred by STEVE MCDANIEL!
New Horizons has over 300 Affiliates and if you are considering joining our team, I
will provide as many references as needed regarding the company, our standards,
and the timeliness and accuracy of payroll.
STEVE MCDANIEL also indicated in his complaint that he was behind on his mortgage PRIOR to joining New Horizons! Somehow however, the fact that his home is in foreclosure is our fault!
My guess is, because he was behind on his mortgage and other bills he conjured up a plan to defraud me and the government by filing for unemployment. He thought he could continue to receive compensation from New Horizons and collect unemployment at the same time! When his grand plan fell through, STEVE needed someone to blame and as evidenced by his complaint NHDS became his target because when his contract with us was terminated we, like every other company in the world, terminated his pay!!
STEVE MCDANIEL has filed suits with multiple state agencies because along with everything else, his pay was terminated when his contract was terminated. In each suit, HE LOST!!! Why this man believed he would continue to be paid after his contract was teminated is confusing at best and part of his delusional personality! He is a con artist and I strongly encourage you to avoid employing this man as he will put you and your company at risk!!

John Mogar did the same to me
AUTHOR: David Newman - (United States of America)

I worked for both companies advanced processing solutions a loan modification company and
new horizon debt settlement. he owes me on both companies he would collect his first $1100 fee and never try to collect the remaining balance for ME
Please read this... It all started when I would e-mail and call John Mogar 5 to 10 times a day followed up by calls and he would never answer to any of them. When I finally got a hold of him I told John that I was missing payments for clients that I enrolled into debt settlement. He said send over the clients you are missing payments from and i will pay you by the end of the week. 1 week went by with many calls and emails again. I have a program that i can call other people from whatever number i want SO I CALLED HIM FROM HIS DAUGHTERS PHONE NUM BER and he picked up. He said the reason he was not answering is because he was in court and its been a mess. so he then said please take a SNAP SHOT OF YOUR SCREEN OF THE CLIENTS THAT I OWE YOU ON STILL...I NOW HAVE DONE THIS 3 TIMES AND NEVER heard from him again.
I THEN SENT HIM AND EMAIL LETTING HIM KNOW THAT I WOULD BE IN CALIF AND WANTED TO MEET UP WITH HIM. HE SENT AN EMAIL BACK IMMEDIATELY WITH A TERMANATION OF HIS COMPANY! I AM NOW GETTING CALLS FROM LOAN MOD CLIENTS SAYING THEY CANT GET A HOLD OF HIM. THIS MAN OWES ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM MY PERSPECTIVE. WE HAVE TO STOP HIM. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE HE HAS DONE
THIS MAN IS A LAIR, AND A COWARD!!! HIS DAUGHTER IS NOT MUCH BETTER FOR LETTING GOOD PEOPLE THAT REACHED OUT TO HER AND HER FATHER TO KEEP THEM IN THEIR HOME AND NOW NOT RETURNING CALLS...

Update and corrected info
AUTHOR: EMPLOYEE - (USA)

After appearing in small claims court, we went to mediation and John Mogar had proof that his partner, Gil Medeiros, had not forwarded any commissions for him to pay his agents.
He had stated that the new contract that i had signed and the two clients I enrolled with him were valid and that he will make payments to me until the agreement of 2,000 is paid within 45-60 days end of jan 011. As for the other eight clients he suggested that I go after New Horizons Debt Relief the owner and "crook", Gil Medeiros and past partner of John Mogar. John even stated that he would appear in court against him and for any other agent that was screwed over for pay. What Gil does is start up new companies and disapears without forwarding money to agents.
I would avoid New Horizons Debt Relief and Gil medeiros, located in Aliso viejo, CA for any service. New horizons debt settlement dba REI one is a completly different company in San Diego, CA and run by John Mogar. They are operating legally and with ethics. I wrote this update to accurately report the correct perpetraitor and now I will need to go back to court and try to recover my commission for the eight clients Gil stole from me. I will keep you posted with any updates.
