A man going by the name of John Swanson (214-218-7421) called my mother saying that he needed to serve me papers for some alleged outstanding debt. When I called him back, he said that he wanted to meet me to give me the paperwork, but was unable to give me basic details about his alleged location or the city where I live.
He said that he was on an avenue that doesn't exist, near a cemetery and a restaurant that also don't exist. He also gave me a number to call to try to cut a deal to avoid going to court and I quickly let him know that I had already done a search of his phone number and knew that he was running a poorly thought out scam, at which point he said, "well, you're going to court buddy."
I hung up on him and he sent me a TEXT MESSAGE calling me a "smart a**." This man is totally insane and might unfortunately be able to fool people who are too trusting. Beware that you should not discuss your location or _any_ personal information with this person. Process servers don't call ahead, they don't send TEXT MESSAGES, and they certainly don't try to work out financial deals with you by phone !!!

This person has called others and threatened them. I doubt he is actually associated with any real debt collection company. The phone # he used does to a residence in the Grand Prarie area likely Deep Branch Circle Drive or Spring Creek Drive. No way to know if John Swanson is his real named but it would appear this is a valid phone #. Phone # is a mobile # provided by Cellco via Verizon.
Please for the sake of othes, file a police report on the phone # referencing both your experience and the experience of another poster on report # 851182 - there are others on that report who have also had issues. The police can issue a subpoena to determine who is the owner of the phone # and you should look at filing charges.
