There is a very good reason MADISON'S FURNITURE IS NOT IN BUSINESS ANYMORE. HE'S A LAIR, THIEF, SCAMMER, AND BASICALLY THE LOWEST FORM OF HUMAN. ONE WHO USES RELIGIOUS ARTIFACTS AROUND HIS STORE TO GAIN YOUR TRUST, HE THEN RIPS YOU OFF!! BBB HAS MANY COMPLAINTS. CITY OF SAN ANTONIO SHUT HIM DOWN!! Mr. Johhny (John) Bordelon hired me to make a sign for him and never gave me a dime. Got ripped off over $500!! from this piece of work. Oh, he come across as a nice family man, with a big smile and very large photos of his kids on the walls.......don't let that trick you!! Wanna know what type of person you are dealing with before you give this loser any money or do any business with Mr. Bordelon? Just do a search for his name and or "Madison's Furniture" online. He's all over the place, with nothing but negatives that are easily found such as the BBB, (in which case he has 10 complaints just here alone that I know of) and many others such as on Yelp and other similar sites.

Your first clue to avoid this guy is to know the fact that he only opened his furniture store on April of 2016, less than a year later he already had accumulated several complaints, I wished I had checked this thief out BEFORE I did one minute of work for him. Less that 2 years later, the city forced to him close his doors. I think he opened up somewhere else in the city under a different name.

Here's what happened to me after I ran into him ........ I had just finished doing business with a good customer of mine, which was the neighbor of Madison's Furniture at Perrin Beitel and Nacogdoches Rd. He stopped me outside on my way to my truck and asked me to if I could help him make a sign for him as well. He immediately started telling me how business was terrible and that he desperately wanted and needed some type of sign outside his business, since he only had a temporary makeshift ugly banner as his main sign. He said he didn't have much money and couldn't afford a real Box sign with new faces so he wanted to make a sign out of an old dirty piece of material that was laying next door at his other space. And also to paint the box with a fresh coat. He rented a space next door to his furniture store so his wife could run some type of used dirty clothing and dirty old toys business. However, it was never opened, He told me since his wife's shop isn't open yet that I could use that space to make his sign. I agreed. The mistake I made was never getting anything in writing or a deposit. He comes across and super nice and genuine. Plus, he told me he runs a "Christian based business". That should have been my big Tip Off right there. He has crosses on his walls and plaques with religious scriptures on them throughout his store. Oh my god!!! what a piece of ... this man turned out to be. I spent a total of 6 hours making this loser's sign.

When I first started to work on it, he kept coming over every fifteen minutes or so to check on me, interrupting me and asking me if its going to look the way it did and is it going to be unbalanced and such. I told him, when I come over and tell you that its done, THEN you can tell me if you do not like it or what part of it you do not like, and I'll fix it, but PLEASE do not critique it along the way. He never listened, he still kept coming over making negative comments about things like it telling me the letters look tilted left or right and crooked, like a little kid would do. Finally after I had enough, I told him. "Okay Johnny, why don't YOU tell me where to put your letters on your sign since its YOUR sign. I cant seem to make it right or to your liking so you tell me where to place the letters for your sign. After all, what the hell do I know? Only been doing this 20 years. And so, he did, I placed the letters on his sign exactly where HE wanted them to go while he stood right there and watched me do it. After finishing he said, "Good, it looks great!" and then he gave me a high five. This was on a Friday. After cleaning up, I asked him for payment, ($525) he said, "Oh, I don't have the money on me now can I pay you tomorrow?" I said "sure, see you tomorrow".

On Saturday I came for the money,(and you guessed it, no money again) when I arrived there, he was with with a female customer who was irate and arguing with Johnny about some furniture that never got delivered, demanding her money back and I heard Johnny say, "I'm not refunding you crap". How I saw him speak to that lady was beyond rude and disrespectful, I saw that when money was coming in or something he wants, he pours on the charm. But when money is going the other way...watch out for this guy! That was my other Tip Off and my red flags were going off. After she left, very mad, Johnny casually walked up to me and said, "I'm sorry, my wife forgot to bring me the money, can you please come back tomorrow?" I hesitantly said, "Okay" again. Now at this point I'm starting to feel burned, mostly by the brush off. But, maybe I'm wrong,, after all, he is a Christian".

After returning on Sunday (my day off) I walked up to Johnny sitting at his desk and asked a third time for payment. He ignored me for a few awkward seconds or so, then nonchalantly, slowly looked up and me and said, "I'm not going to pay you" Shocked, I asked "why not?" He said, "I've asked two sign professionals to look at your sign and they both told me that its not professional, its crooked and unbalanced, and I'm NOT going hang that ugly sign outside my business". Needless to say, I kind of saw this coming, having dealt with non -paying morons like him in the past. He then said, "You can take your letters off if you want to, but I'm not paying for that. After going next door one last time to measure the sign once more to verify what his complaint was. i brought my tape and measured again. Maybe I installed it crooked like he said. I checked and the math came out all fine again like it did the first time, everything measured out exact. like it should be. I walked back next door and told him. "Johnny, I don't know what what sign your're referring to but the sign I made measures out perfect. nothing is unbalanced according to my calculator. Besides, you gave me a high five when you personally looked at and said it looked great, 2 days ago! So, may I please get paid? He said, "Nope". never taking his eyes off the computer screen. I then turned to leave and thanked him for wasting my time. As i was almost to the door, he thanked me for wasting HIS time. I left, took it as a loss and moved on. Bigger things for me to accomplish.

Two weeks later, I happened to drive by his store and took a peak as I drove by. To my astonishment, there is was, in all it's beautiful glory, the nice sign I made this man, that was so ugly and unbalanced. Lol! I just laughed and drove on. Three months or so later I saw he was closed. So. Watch out people for Johnny Bordelon with Madsion's Furniture. HE IS A RIP OFF!!!!SCAMMER!!! THIEF!! LIAR!!! I once heard somewhere along on my journey in life, that bad things seem to happen to bad people and good things happen to good people, others call that Karma! I'm just thankful for the good things that happen to me... with an occasional Johnny thrown into the mix.
