Johnson Controls BEWARE of Johnson Controls "car wrapping" scam Internet

He's not just using Johnson Controls, he's also using BizLogix and Spa Party. It's essentially the same copy-pasted email  but the names of the companies are changed. Here's what he sent me:

How it works
 
Here's the basic premise of the "paid to drive" concept:
Spa Party seeks people -- regular citizens, not professional drivers -- to go about their normal routine as they usually do, only with a big advert for "SPAPARTY" plastered on your car. The ads are typically vinyl decals, also known as "auto wraps," that almost seem to be painted on the vehicle, and which will cover any portion of your car's exterior Surface.
 
What does the company get out of this type of ad strategy? Lots of exposure and awareness. The auto wraps tend to be colorful and eye-catching and attract lots of attention. Plus, it's a form of advertising with a captive audience, meaning people who are stuck in traffic and can't avoid seeing the wrapped car alongside them.
 
This program will last for 6 months and the minimum period you can participate is 1 month You will be compensated with a $300 (Three hundred dollars per Week), which is essentially a "rental" payment for letting our company use the space. Spa Party shall provide experts that would handle the advert placing on your car.

You will receive your 1st week payment of $300 (three hundred dollars) in form of check for accepting to carry this advert on your car and other weekly payments will also be delivered at your address weekly.

Upon doing some research, the next part would involve him sending a check where you keep the $300 and forward the rest to a different company. Obviously, that's pretty fishy. If he truly had his own professional employees, I think it would be easier for him to pay them himself via payroll or something similar.

I contacted www.spa-party.com to let them know of the existence of this scam and they too are not involved with this "Paul Grant."

Please, like what everyone else advised, be careful of who you send out information to and do your research always. I have gotten legitimate work through CL before, you just need to be very careful!

This is so frustrating because these scams keep happening and if peope took one minute to search online they would see these are a scam. Here is the same thing they keep sending;

I too responded to an add about these "car wraps"..and got an email from Paul Grant (I doubt it's a real name), so I googled and found this report. Then I googled Johnson Controls. They had a phone number right on their website.

I was transferred to the Investigator in these matters and sent him the "header code" from my email, to conduct his own investigation.

Johnson Controls is not involved in this fraudulent scam, they too are a victim, but they are aware of it. They also wish more people would contact them when they get sucked in.

I suggest anyone getting a job offer via Craigslist, do a little research before jumping in. I have gotten legitimate jobs via Craigslist and made money or temporary work..really..but you must research anything that seems too good to be true.
