While shopping online for a debt relief (consulting service) for 2 credit cards
I have with exorbitant interest rates I received an unsolicited call from a wonderfully smooth comforting young man availing his firms services. I am retired and have been in sales all my life so I knew as we progressed to be very careful with the unfolding pattern. I was given my monthly payment
schedule with fees etc etc. The man hadnt any interest in who the creditors were nor the payment addresses. With the questions I asked he knew I wasnt
some rube lookin for a way out. I decided to end the call and asked him to call me tomorrow to which he agreed but said "first let me transfer you to
my supervisor to confirm some data you have given me. Ok. -- The person I then talked to was a closer--he didnt want to confirm any data he just wanted
to close. I told him I wanted to discuss it with my wife. He used the intimidating question Oh, does your wife make the decisions in your household? I replied that yes she did. He was miffed--as it proceeded I found he was not a closer at all but rather an intimidator. Thats old hat with me and doesnt work.
Various names of companies use during the converstation--CDCS, Johnson Law Group, The Credit Exchange In addition to the Vegas address they have one in Orlando. FL and several different ph nrs and faxes.
None of the above is illegal ---just be careful when your comfort level with these people is high----I think that if you "sign" that comfort level
will evaporate.
