On Feb. 24, 2018, a rainy Saturday, I locked myself out of my car and called the first towing company that came up on the Google search. (Since that time, I've been advised to go to the third or fourth company in any such search as the first one is always the highest fee.) Jonny's Towing came to Fox Valley Mall in a timely fashion. That was the only thing that went well. They arrived with a very fancy, very well lit truck that was missing the equipment they needed to get into my car. So, the driver improvised by using a tool (I think it was a wrench) to pry open a small space above my door and used the antenna of their vehicle to thread into the door and push the lock button. It took less than 3 minutes once they had their antenna off their truck. It was at that point that they told me the charge was $195. I told the driver that it was a ridiculous amount to unlock a door, that it was highway robbery. He said that is our standard fee and suggested I turn it in to my insurance company, he said they should cover it. (I called my agent, he said no such coverage exists, not only on  my policy but on any policy.) I noticed the next day that my door was slightly bent. I called Jonny's Towing to complain. After multiple unreturned messages over a week's time, I finally spoke to Wendy who said I could bring my vehicle to them and they would fix it. They are not a body shop. I did not trust them at this point to look at my vehicle. I said I just wanted  the $195 back because they arrived to perform a service for which the driver admitted he did not have the proper tool and they damaged my vehicle in the process. She said they would not, under any circumstance, refund my money because they had provided a service to me. When I protested, that yes, you provided a service, but you DAMAGED my vehicle and the only recourse you are offering is to bring my car to you...a towing company...to do body work...no thanks. Do not use this company. They are not motivated to conduct business in a scrupulous fashion. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau, and I suggest all those who are unhappy do the same. bbb.org. They have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website. Please contribute your reviews and lets put these shysters out of business.
