I replied to a craig's list posting for a personal assistant for actor/singer Josh Bredehoft. Only to find out many inconsistencies with his story...
First, I noticed that neither him or his company had a website, only various myspace pages. The position said it paid 40-50k a year and he had 6 ASSISTANTS! I thought well thats odd! He is not well known and he is offering this kind of money to ALL his assistants. But I figured his parents were rich and he had money to throw around.
The more research I did the more uneasy I felt about him. There was a FAKE myspace profile for MTV with JOSH B as #1 top friend. His reality show "Hollywood and Vine" was #2 and supposedly scheduled to hit MTV in January 09'. He also has a single called "Pocket Change" that allegedly sold 1.5 million copies. But his music myspace has recorded only 30,000 views. mmmhmm.
None-the-less I decided to try it out. Heres the catch there is a two day (NON PAID) trial period for all his assistants. He told me to show up at his "office" (which was a garage) at 8am and bring club attire. Thats right! club attire. Meaning I would be there until at least 3am. thats a 19 hour day. and that was only Day 1. While I was there his assistant Lauren got a call from a disgruntled ex employee who was screaming at her so loud I could hear across the room.
His 1st assistant paige has been interviewing assistants since the middle of Summer 08! I'm sure that the reason for this is to enlist FREE help for 2 days to help his public persona and increase buzz around his career. NOT EVEN HUGE CELEBS HAVE 6 ASSISTANTS! By continually adding assistants for 2 days at time he gets 2 LONG days work out of these hopeful candidates and in turn releases them after the trail period. There is NO reality show. His "new single" has been out for more than 2 years.
Please prove me wrong. Somebody prove it is not a scam and I will apologize. Until then I will spread the word on this HOLLYWOOD SCAM ARTIST.
