Josh Longman JD's General Contracting Unfinished job, never on time, kept upping the bill, horrible work quality, backtalk, unprofessional Middletown, Ohio

The only reason we hired this guy in the first place was because he was available and the reputable plumbers I am accustomed to doing business with were unavailable until Monday, and my main drain started backing up on a Thursday night. 

Josh advertises himself as a general contractor, and that "the satisfaction of our clients is the main focus of JD's Contracting and we consider it our job to protect their investment".  If satisfying your clients means talking nothing but crap about them, giving them nothing but lip to their faces, never showing up on time, generally making the entire experience a total nightmare, then you're definitely on the ball.

Firstly, he didn't have his own equipment - we had to rent or pay for everything he needed.  I overheard from conversations among people working for him and random people that showed up at my house looking for him all about pot, pills, getting jumped, how horny they were, fellatio, and that Josh had been in prison.

Anyway, he says he'll be back Sunday morning right after picking up his worker at 8am. He doesn't show up until 10:30 this guy shows up.  And he wants to try to clear the pipe from by getting into the manhole in my driveway and snaking back towards the house, but that'll be an extra $200.  He knew that 10:30 would be the specific time that my dad would not be unavailable for an hour. 

That's when things started getting ugly.  He started giving me all kinds of lip about how the snake had to be back by noon and that this was the only way to get it done and kept trying to bully me into giving him the go ahead.  So, I pointed out that if that was the only way to get it done, then why was he digging up my front yard?  This all could have been avoided if he'd just shown up on time.

So then he started talking crap about both me and my dad to his workers (some kids he had digging a hole in my yard - in the wrong spot).  I got to hear all sorts of insults and cursing about my dad about how stupid I am to not just give him the go ahead to snake it from the manhole, as well as other derogatory comments.  And he did this knowing full well I was right on the other side of a screen door.

The kicker was when he called me the "f*ing pig inside" and went into great detail about how massively unattractive I am and how he could never be with someone like me.  Well, good for you Josh.  I don't think you'll ever have to worry about me being the least bit attracted to you either.

He was hardly ever on the jobsite luckily.  He'd just come over, complain loudly about my Dad and me, then leave.  At one point he said he was leaving to get something to eat and that he'd be back afterward.  2 HOURS later his workers have me call him to see where he is because they'd finished the hole - and he said he had just sat down to eat.  What did he do?  Go home and bake a ham?  A half an hour later he finally shows up, says he can't do anything because the hole was filled with backed up sewer water, and leave saying he'll be back the next morning.  He also has Dad pay him for most of the job because he has to pay his workers.  I also found out from overhearing conversations that he had to use his Mother's bank account.

Monday morning comes, he doesn't show up.  Monday afternoon comes, the plumber I had originally wanted out there comes over, assesses the damage, and we turn the job over to him to finish at least installing the cleanout pipe and to properly clean the drain.  So, at 4:30 Monday afternoon, Josh calls and says he's "ready" to come over.  Dad has the other plumber talk to him to determine what all he has done, then hands the phone over to Dad, and Dad fires him from the job.  He gave Dad a bunch of lip about it but at least that nightmare is over.  The only thing he managed to succeed in doing during the entire weekend was digging a hole in the front yard, and making our lives a living hell.

I would never, EVER do business with this guy again.  He was nothing but a waste of time and money, and if you consider the stress, lost sleep, and general BS that was associated with it, this was quite honestly the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor.
