I have been a customer of JTv for a number of years looking to invest in gemstones "for a rainy day"

Recently, that rainy day occurred and upon attempting to sell some of the "high-end" stones I acquired through JTv, from reputable gemologists, I discovered the following disturbing facts:

When gemstones are advertised as the "mines are now closed," creating a supposed market to the consumer to buy some of the "last remaining stones," I was told that most of these "last stones" are entering a market so saturated with with them that gemologists refuse to even entertain looking at them.

When ordering "high-end" gems such as dark-blue tanzanite ring (one valued at $5,000 and selling for $700) I received a pale, sky-blue tanzanite that bore no similarity to the stone shown on the TV. A classic bait-and-switch routine.

I was forced to return the gem, at my own expense (including the MANDATORY insurance for the JTV's STATED value).

When ordering "diamond encrusted/accented" rings, the diamonds are actually mere diamond chips that have no value whatsoever. The detail of the close-ups is not clear enough to show that what appears to be one diamond, is actually dozens of diamonds clustered together to appear as a single unit.

Had I any indication that Jtv was using such underhanded and deceitful practices, I would never have made so many "investments."

I would like to know about more people who are interested in perhaps joining an a class-action lawsuit mandating a full disclosure of JTv's practices, including precentage of returns and complaints, I would very like to hear about them.

Jewelry Television - JTV

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 03, 2011

I have been a customer of JTV for 10 years and yes, I have returned some items that were not quite up to my specifications but I have never had a problem with returns. I have never insured the returns just purchased a signature required card from the Post Office and have always gotten my credit card adjusted for the return.

I have to say that gemstones are a long term investment like the stock market and other investments, you will not got a major return on purchase right away.

I have many beautiful jewels from JTV that I would otherwise never be able to afford. I am an owner of the GSK097 ring and it is spectacular. I had it appraised when I purchased it for insurance at the old gold prices. I paid $795.00 for it and it appraised 3 years ago for $4,800.00 by a Gemologist. It is even worth more at today's gold and diamond prices. I have an entire jewelry box full of 10, 14 kt and sterling silver jewels that are spectacular. I continue to shop and buy Christmas presents from them because the recipients are always excited to see what kind of jewelry they will receive from me for Christmas.

I sold my broken gold to them and received a substantial amount of money (more than I ever imagined) from a small parcel of broken gold items.

I know about the Andesine Laboradite issue and maybe they were misled also. None of us are perfect. I have a few rings with red Andesine and they are lovely and I enjoy wearing them. I purchase my jewelry to wear and pass down when I am no longer on this earth because it makes me feel good and I get so many compliments on all my pieces. I am glad that I made all the purchases that I did in years past because now the prices have considerably increased due to the increase in cost of gold, silver and diamonds.

I Love JTV and so do many others and you should not bad rap them because you thought you would purchase these stones and get rich quick. I purchased a 8 carat museum quality tanzanite and I took it to a gemologist to an appraisal and he told me to hang on to it because in about 10 years it will be worth a bundle.

I also purchased 3 Colombian Emeralds in 3.0 carats plus each and now you cannot find them anymore. I took them to my jeweler and he told me to keep them because I got them a a smokin price and I am glad I listened to his advice. I plan I having rings and pendants made for myself and enjoying all the envious women when they see them and wonder how I can afford all those beautiful jewels!!!!

You have to be smart about any investments so please don't bad rap JTV because you did not do your research....

USER ARE YOU WORKING FOR THEM?

AUTHOR: jemlover - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 18, 2009

I see User from USA is at it again!  Do you work for the JTV team? or are you related to someone that "works" there?  First most people will not spend $50 or more bucks to have someone test a gemstone that you only paid $20 or so for.  We believe that what the host tell us in true.  How many have you had tested that you got real cheap? As for the 30 days, heck, I was still in that 30 days and they said I was not, hmm they used the shipping date not the date I received the item.  SO YES THEY ARE STILL RIPPING US OFF AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT.  I paid as little as $15 for some items that they told me was ss and rhod. plated, well the item tarnished in 1 week.  Where's that rhod.?  Was I to pay $50 to have someone check it out, if so, what would be the purpose of buying from JTV?  We buy because they say we are getting real gems, ss, 18k 14k plat. or rhod. overlay! BUT are we, not always!  So they show their ugly faces again.  ALL LIES AND FRAUDS WORKING FOR THAT COMPANY.  AVOID AT ALL COSTS..............

by the way

you have 30 days to look at. your buy and take it to a gemoligest and have it tested to prove its real. so dont say jtv sells fake jems to people. you again have 30 days to have it tested to see if its real. jtv is NOT a rip off.
the people who sold them the and/lab lied as to its everything. disregarding all ftc laws. and so jtv is losing a butt load of money. because they were lied to. yet there willing to give you your money back no qustions asked. i fully stand behind jtv. i have never been ripped off by them. yes iv gotten some stuff i wasent happy with but they replaced it. and all of my gem stones have turned out to be real.
unless stated otherwise befor i bought it.
i wont listen to there hosts. because there full of crap. but i look and read and do research befor i buy.
there sales people talk alot of unfounded sales crap to try and sell items. but everybody knows sales people are liers. if they say something is in short supply then look for it on the net and find out for your self. do you blindly belive car sales people? this car was only driven by grandma to and from church. oh ya and she lived in passidena. its a sales pitch. however if you can prove there bold faced lieing when it comes to gems then report it to the ftc.
the guy walks up to and says hey im trying to get home this christmas to see my mother and im 40 bucks short for a bus ticket could you help?
most likely youll fork out as much as you can. he was lieing. his mother is most likely just fine and he still lives with her because he's a lazy bum. its a sale pitch.
comeon get to know the world you live in.

your ring and such

AUTHOR: User - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 04, 2008

you had 30 days to return your ring for a full refund. you dont have to pay insurance unless you want to. i have never payed for insurance on anything i have returned. the ring would most likely cost you 3 bucks to return. jtv stands behind there return policy. if you failed to use it then thats your fault.
also if you had done some resurch you would have been informed that there is not a good market at this time for resailing gem stones you buy. duhh
anybody can buy from jtv so why would they pay you 5 grand for a ring they to can buy for 700 right now. lear about investment in gem stones dont just buy today and think you can ripoff the guy down the road buy trying to sell him your ring for 5 grand. gem stone investment is a longterm investment not a quick buck.
its not a get rich over night thing. but it is a sound investment. later down the road. pass it on to your grand child.

Taken advantage of by JTV

AUTHOR: Chime - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 28, 2008

The report I am responding to, asked for others to respond.. that have been unjustly taken advantage of by JTV. I am one such person and am very upset with JTV.

The money I spent with JTV believing I was saving for the proverbial "rainyday" ... may as well have simply been burned!

If anyone else can send me information on the pending Litigation with JTV, or has any other recent information regarding JTV., please feel free to contact me.

Thank you.
