My husband and I joined Just Fitness Lawrenceville in March 2011. We were asked to use personal trainers to help me lose weight. We were told that we would receive nutritional meal plans, and workouts we could do on our own which would be easily accessible in the gym. I informed the trainer Marquis, that I suffered from numerous chronic illnesses, and that I could not work out that hard. My body would shut down. The trainer assured me that if I no longer could work out, I could quit my training contract at any time.
On May third, I called Marquis to let him know that I was extremly sick, and no longer wanted to continue withe personal traing twice a week. I asked to reduce the training to once a week; as opposed to twice a week. Marquis then informed me that I needed to get a doctors excuse.
I was very upset because that's not what he said in the beginning. I made an appointment with my doctor. I found out that I had a tumor on my liver, and right kidney. my doctor wrote an excuse advising  me not to work out at all.
On May tenth, my husband and I took the excuse to the gym, and asked for a refund of the prepay 300.00 dollars the gym took out of our checking account.. Marquis said he would see if that excuse was good enough. Not only did he not tell me of the process to quit training; because if I knew it would be this hard I never would have signed up knowing the illnesses I've had for over 12 years. Also, my husband, and I never received any nutritional meal plans, nor work outs tailored for us at all.
My husband, and I have been sick. The stress has caused my autoimmune disease to flare up and attack my body. My husband is so up set, he does not want to workout anymore, anywhere.
This is now June 6th, and I have been passed around from person to person. The General Manager said that Headquarters had to stop taking 300.00 dollars out of my checking account every month. Headquarters said it's the GM, Brad's job to stop payment. Last week, the GM of the Lawrenceville office reffereed me to Garrett Cook, who is over all the trainers supposedly. I've left four voicemails with Garrett , and have not received one call yet.
I have no answers, no conclusions, and now the gym has taken out another 300.00 dollars out of our checking account. Not only did they lie to us, but they continue taking money from us. Just Fitness owes me at least 600.00 dolloers. We have been made to feel stupid, ignorant, depressed, and defeated. I don't know what they owe us for causing us so much grief.
I pray that this issue would stop, and we receive our refund.
