I got an anxious call one evening around 8:45 p.,. from one of my elderly mom's home health aides saying there was a strange man sitting in my mom's living room about to talk my mom into signing a $9,000 contract to replace all the windows in her home. I rushed right over to her house to find a man in a suit and tie sitting in her living room with a sample window leaning on the sofa, and with a contract written up on a metal clipboard box. He told us Mom's windows were all "nonfunctional" and needed to be replaced. Her house was built in 1996, and I know first-hand there is nothing wrong with any of her windows. They are all functional and open. Some have locks on them preventing them from being opened more than about 4 inches unless the lock is disables. They're actually really good windows. I asked the sales guy where he got my Mom's contact info. He wouldn't say. He said his corporate office sends him leads. I asked who at the corporate office sends him leads. He said he didn't know who gave the leads to him! He gave me his card and I asked the name of his boss. He said he didn't know his own boss's name! I said my mom's windows all work fine, that she didn't need any new windows and that he could leave now. He took his stuff and left. He wouldn't answer how my mom got on his target list. My mom's caregiver said the salesman asked Mom for a significant amount of personal information. My mom's mind is failing her, and when he asked for her date of birth, she couldn't remember. A legitimate sales guy would have quit right then, but he kept on going. It's suspicious that he asked for her date of birth to try and make a sale. This outfit tries to scam elderly people out of their money. Don't do business with them!!
