Kansas City Power & Light Bad Meter, Overcharging, Switched Payment Plans before contract period Kansas City Missouri

Hello, All

Im writing in regards to KCPL. I received an bill that kept saying overpayment, because I normally pay my bills ahead of time. When I contacted them they told me, my meter wasnt reading properly and that they had to install a new one and that my meter has been messed up since i lived at my apartment(mind you I stayed at my apartment for 5 years) and they stated I would have a back pay bill..

I received my bill and it was close to $700.00 and I told them that was nuts..I wasnt responsible for the bad meter and they insisted that i must pay. I signed up for the payment plan and that was $120.00montly for the next 12 months. Ive been paying on time but my bill has now risen to $896.00..I called them and they said someone calculated it wrong and now I must pay $150.00montly. mind you i have two children in the home and I dont make much money. I feel Im being cheated on my bill and I will never get the bill paid off since the weather is about to change? I feel I shouldnt have

pay for the bill since it was a meter problem. Do I know have to do meter checks? it seems as if my bills are getting higher and higher..What can I do? is there anyone I can talk to? ive talked to them numerous time. They told me if i pay ahead on my bill, I have to call them first cause it wont help any on my bill.. What can I do? Please Help? ive never had a bill this high with them. this is insane..
