Kaplan University / Pinnacle Collections Over 1,000 in debt for one week of online school!!! Davenport Iowa Internet

I enrolled at Kaplan University in 2005 and one week after i had started my online education i fell ill and was put on bed rest due to some complications with a pregnancy. I informed them that i was no longer going to be able to continue the program and they said, "we will not charge you for this since you were only able to attend a few classes and because of your circumstances, we Understand".

So i recently was checking my credit report because i'm trying to fix it of course and low and behold there is a large amount on there from kaplan from 2005!!!! what happened to them not charging me? Now i have to pay over 1,000 dollars for a few classes? this isn't right!!! they should not have promised me i wouldn't have to pay! and on top of it all i can't prove it that they said this to me.

I now have this on my credit report for God only knows how long and i will have to be making low monthly payments on something that did me absolutely no good. their program is bullshit. they pull you in and then their "online support" is non existant!! I really wish i knew what to do about this. I'm going to attempt to call them and see if they will do anything but reading the other reports that i have read about them, i doubt they will.
