I found a 2002 motor home on craigslist of denver co and responded to the ad. Karen Slaughter replied and told me the price, sent pictures and said that she had moved to Omaha and turned the motor home in to ebay to complete the transaction. An email was sent to me with ebay motor logo that looked like all other correspondence I have received from ebay with a phone # to call. When I called, i was told to purchase $3000 worth of One Vanilla prepaid credit cards for a deposit and then call with the card #'s before they would ship the motor home to me. I was told I would have 5 days to examine the unit and then would have to pay the balance of the purchase. Later today, I had a strange feeling and started to check up on the purchase. I found the # is no longer answering and that Karen Slaughter has done this before. I was heartsick as this is a lot of money for us. Can something be done?

“Can something be done?”
Yes, something can be done. People can observe the craigslist scam alerts that include:
• Do not extend payment to anyone you have not met in person
• Beware offers involving shipping - deal with locals you can meet in person.
• Never wire funds (e.g. Western Union) - anyone who asks you to is a scammer.
• Do not rent or purchase sight-unseen—that amazing "deal" may not exist.

Thank you for your support. What color of robes do you wear when you judge the world? It must be nice never to have made any mistakes.

Let's see...you voluntarily send off your money to buy a motorhome you've never seen and from somebody you don't know! You have ZERO clue as to what the condition of this thing is, yet you very easily send off your money!
Please check into the nearest emergency room and demand they admit you for a very serious loss of COMMON SENSE!
