Katharine Gibbs K Gibbs Education Scam!!! Providence, Rhode Island

I attended Katharine Gibbs in Providence Rhode Island in 2001 for Business Administration. I was young, just became a single mother and wanted to get an education to better my future and my childs. I had no knowledge at the time ofwhat to look for in schools such as accredidation,national,regional,loans etc. I requested program information and before I knew it they had accepted and enrolled me! (This was amazing and a dream come true because I had no job,no college savings, I did not think that I would be able to obtain a loan on my own nevermind a $14,000 one and they had done it all within a few days!)(ALSO I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION IT WAS $8,000. NOT $14000)

I thought this would be the best decision I had ever made in my life, I was proud and I was determined. I was so wrong! I Was LIED TO. I was a young single mother on welfare trying to better my life and I was naive. They sold me a dream of "the schools reputation" a "promising career with employment services from the school) and I have NOTHING! I DONT even have my TRANSCRIPTS! I have numerous loans that seem to change all the time in amounts and holders, I have had my income taxes taking numerous times in large amounts that I TRUELY truely don't even understand how my loan isn't paid off yet by it!

I do not work in the field I went to school for, I am unemployed, I CANNOT GET ANY EDUCATION ASSISTANCE now because of this to try so that I CAN get a NEW CAREER THAT'S ACKNOWLEDGED and worth something, one that will enable me to MAKE PAYMENTS ON THESE SO CALLED LOANS. This is the United States of America where everyone is supposed to be able to get an Education!

The ONLY thing I got educated on was that I have NO JOB, I have NO transcripts, I will always be in debt with a loan from this fraud school no matter how much I pay on it, and I will not be eligible for help to go back to College! That is the EDUCATION KATHARINE GIBBS PROVIDED ME. This was the biggest scam and ripoff I have ever seen and it is SO heartbreaking and devistating. I went from feeling like a proud business student to losing everything! I have no job, I can't get assistance for a REAL education because I owe $1 thousand of the $14000 left!

So I guess they've won because I can't make payments on that loan so its in default, I'm sure they'll manage to get another 5000 out of that. THIS SCHOOL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF ITSELF! MAYBE THAT'S WHY THEY CLOSED DOWN!!!THESE LOANS SHOULD BE FORGIVEN THEY ARE the biggest fraud, and there are THOUSDANDS OF FORMER STUDENTS IN THE SAME SITUATION SO IT IS NOT JUST me one person. SOMEONE really needs to take a look into this matter otherwise these former students will all end up needing state and govt assistance and it is truely a scam.
