Keep the web site updated. We want to know the outcome of how the PA State Attorney is handling the fraudulent matter of Harry, Ira and Margaret Kaufman.

Did the Kaufman's ever get arrested for causing so much unnecessary destruction to hundreds and hundreds of consumer/brides, families, taxpayers, court system, etc.

I am doing an over all study of the wedding business who profits by a Billion dollars a year while causing so many paying customers distress. How do they get away with it yearly.

I was employed at Kaufman's in February '04. I was approached by Ira Kauffman in a retail store where I was currently employed. He promised me high pay for a promised management position. Since it was a better offer, I decided to take it.

My first days of training were a bit rediculous. The managers treated me as if I were 13 years old and as if I was a complete idiot (I am now approaching my fourth year of college and have a 3.7 GPA). During training, we were instructed to lie to the customers (say they looked good when they didn't, etc.) using role-playing scenarios.

The managers explained what the policies were and they seemed a bit shady ("no return policy, pay in full, etc."). After noticing that complaints were being made in our store on a daily bases, I decided to end employment there. I then found out that the managers were getting commission off MY sales and did not share this with us. I also feel that they knew of the bankruptcy and "back order" issue but sold gowns anyway.

I feel horrible that I was part of this tragic occurence. I understand how important weddings are to everyone and cannot believe that I was inadvertently to blame for tragic wedding memories. Needless to mention, I and several other girls immediately quit after recognizing "shady deals." I wish I could have done something for the consumers but it was too late.

My deepest sympathy towards all customers who lost their hard earned money and memories. If I knew then what I have learned now, I would have worked there merely to exploit their illegal activity and not for income.

I am writing in response to your message. I have remained anonymous, because I do not want my name associated with Wedding World, Inc. I am sorry that you have been a victim of Wedding World. I worked for Wedding World and I wanted to let you know that we did not get paid.

You said you did not care if we (employees) got paid. I just wanted to let you and the others out there know, that I and over 200 other employees did not get paid for the last 3 1/2 weeks that we worked. So you do not work probably by choice, but over 200 employees lost their jobs (we found out the day the doors closed no advance warning) and some of us had children.

So yes you may have to find a new dress, and I AM SINCERELY SORRY but some people are just worrying about making payments to still have a house, car or feeding their children.

So please complain about the owners and they will get what they deserve, but you do not realize the hell us employees went through.

So I wish you the best of luck and I truely hope you get your money back, although I doubt you see it (none of us have saw a penny). Just remember that it is just a dress and the love you and your finance have, is SO MUCH MORE.

I further don't understand why the state attorney (Mr. Mendelsohn-handled previous bridal scams) does not arrest Harry, Margaret and Ira for causing so much illegal destruction to society, taxpayers and ladies planning expensive weddings that become ruined when the retailer (most important contractor-dress) does not provide what is expressed as warranty for expensive weddings planned.

It is illegal for retail executives to express to consumer that a product will be ordered and then not order it while spending the money on personal items and then filing bankruptcy.

Does anyone know if Harry, Margaret and Ira live in a big home, eat expensive dinners and drive expensive cars bought with profits from deceived customers?

There is much pain, suffering and lost monies (customers and taxpayers) by paying customs in 4 states directly because of Harry's hairy deals.

Harry too puts a big burden on taxpayer monies (bankruptcy, criminal court, etc.) that are wasted yearly addressing the illegal crimes of many corporate executives who run the bridal dress industry and other industries too (Enron, Morgan Stanley, Martha Stewart, etc. That wasted money could be better spent on lowering our taxes.

It is not only Harry who is conducting hairy deals. Bridal retail executives are know in history to brutalize young ladies who are at loss of how to fight back.

So ladies please be sure and stay away as this retailer has her corporate attorney (Sorokin) further brutalize the innocent victims of her greedy crime. I read Suky Rosan died but her son (Jay) took over the defrauding business and the same attorney still represents the business. So I would still be wary of this bridal shop.
