KC Cockapoos Colleen Thompson DISHONEST Cockapoo breeder in Ellensburg, WA. Ellensburg, Washington

We put down a $200 deposit on a 3 wk old cockapoo with KC Cockapoos, who advertised AKC champion parents, OFA, CERF, and Patella cleared.  She also said all her puppies looked alike, which is completely false.  

I checked references and assumed I would get all paperwork when I picked up the puppy (It was not in the packet). Two days before I picked up the puppy they told me I could have my choice between the 2 remaining females. The day I got there they said they sold the other female and I had no choice, this puppy or none. Four days later I verified she still had 2 females available, after I saw she posted an all black female the very same day she claimed all her puppies were sold.  

When I saw the puppy in comparison with the other puppies it appeared there was something wrong with her rear end, she was the least attractive, and she was the runt (breeder said she was right in the middle) to boot.  

We took her to a vet who said her tail was docked extremely short. She also has a roached back and her legs tuck under her toward her belly instead of under or behind her rear - perhaps a fallback from the tail docking? Basically her tail is docked almost completely off.  When I asked the breeder about the tail docking and for the paperwork on AKC, CERF, Patella, OFA, etc.. she got very defensive and told me to shut up or pay up and this transaction is done and refuses to give me any paperwork. I can't find the dam or sire on the OFA website. 

Since I caught them in a bald faced lie, I can only assume that everything they claimed about the puppies and the dam and sire is a lie.

We paid $900, which is in the high range for a cockapoo, for better breeding, and I guess she saw a sucker coming and took advantage.  By the time we traveled thousands of miles to pick her up, then thousands of miles back, at considerable cost, plus our $200 non-refundable deposit, we pretty much felt cornered and took the pup.  After we learned the rest of the story we asked for another puppy or a refund.  That's when she said "Pay up or shut up" (of course we had already paid up).  

The breeder provided 5 references, all happy customers.  Ours is another side of this breeder that others should know about.  

If you are buying a puppy, please visit the site, get references, get all documentation and verify that it is legitimate, and pick out your own puppy.  At this point we have bonded with this puppy (especially our daughter) and she with us, so there is no chance we will be returning her, and we are praying that she does not have any serious health issues, and that she lives a long healthy life.
