I purchased a Tuffy automotive maintenance card from one of Their sales people on 5/4/06 with a post dated check to be cashed on 5/12/06. A couple of days later (5/6/06) I called the number on the back of the card to cancel this transaction. I realized I would not be able to afford the purchase, and offered to send the card back. The rep I talked with (Pat Shane) said he would forward the information to the appropriate person to see to it that this check does not get cashed. I stressed over and over again that I would really like a call back to tell me it has been taken care of, so I can stop worrying about it. I called about everyday leading up to the 12th of May. I left messages, paged people, talked with Tuffy, and still no call back or any resolvment. So a few days passed after the 12th, I saw that it didn't get cashed, So I figured it was taken care of, and I just wasn't notified. On the 16th of May, I checked my account online, and to my surprise and dismay, It was cashed. I don't know how much more notice I could have given that I did not want this check cashed. As a result, My account went into the negative, and this caused a few overdraft charges of $34.00 each. I cannot afford these fee. After many frustrating calls with thier people, I thought I got resolvement for the check amount of $54.80 When a man named Pat Shane told me to send the card and a SASE to this lady and she will get the check out right away. That was 3 weeks ago, still nothering. Now I dont have the card, or my Money. I was completly Ripped off. The are some really shady people out there, BEWARE!! Being in a retail environment, I strongly believe that the customer should be taken care of. I am in a very tough financial situation because of this. Now they wont even answer the phone. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. I am now out over $100.00.
