Ken Kaufman is a phony and we are looking at suing him for investor fraud. Let me repeat that, Ken Kaufman of 1st Phase Records and Hollywood RPM Entertainment Management is a phony and we are seriously considering suing him for investor fraud.

Ken Kaufman pretends to be a big shot producer who has worked on big films like Suicide Kings, Class Act, Only You, Hot Shots!, and the Player as a line producer, production manager, production designer, set decorator, visual effects producer, and a food designer, whatever the heck that is. Yet, he’s never done any of these things. And the producers of these films have never heard of him.

We actually took the time to reach out to the producers and or line producers and production managers of these films and none of these people have ever heard of Ken Kaufman. We even asked them to double check their accounting records and no record of the man exists. We even double checked the actual credits of the films he supposedly worked on and his name doesn’t show up in the credits of any of them. (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) Not in Alf, not in Hot Shots!, not in the Player, not in Suicide Kings, not in any of them. And all of the people we contacted, the line producers, production manager, and actual producers who were on set, would have known him if he had worked those jobs. It would be like playing an entire season of basketball and not remembering the coach, the assistant coach, any of the assistant coaches and trainers, or any one of your teammates. You would literally remember all of those people. You might not remember them off hand, but if pressed or shown a picture, you would definitely remember them, that’s how much interaction you have with the other people who are on set EVERY DAY for two months.

So why does his IMDB page show that he has worked on all these films? (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) Simple answer, because IMDB lets you add credits to your profile and they do so without double checking the original source. (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) And they will do it without even listing your credit as uncredited. Sometimes they’ll list it as uncredited, but if you work it right, they won’t. (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) So you get “producers” (fake air quotes implied) like Ken Kaufman. Who is really a clown pretending to be a real producer. Ken Kaufman’s never actually worked on a film, but I guess he thinks by adding illegitimate credits to his IMDB page people will take him serious. And we did, but now we don’t and we’re pissed.

Ken Kaufman almost took us for 10 million dollars. TEN MILLION. That’s a  lot of money. Thank god we did our homework. Initially we trusted him because we thought we could trust IMDB, but we happen to watch one of his films and his name wasn’t on the end credits, but a credit like Production Designed is definitely going to be there and his wasn’t. So went to the Turner Classic Movie website where they only list credits that appear in the actual film and his name wasn’t listed on any of the films that bear his name on IMDB. (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) He is literally a phony producer who invented an alter ego using his real name. He’s like the character in Catch Me If You Can, if that character was a loser, d****ebag, who couldn’t get laid, raise money, or figure out how to make a movie. He also looks nothing like Leonard DiCaprio.

Ken Kaufman is committing fraud by doing this. He almost had us fooled, but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. He still wasted close to 8 months of our time and probably 50 grand in development money. Don’t let him waste yours.

If you don’t believe me, please go through the attached screenshots and you’ll see his phony imdb resume and contact information. (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) You’ll see screenshots of the particular films credits on imdb where he is listed with a fake credit (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) and then look at the Turner Classic Movie pages (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS) where he is not credited. Even look at the screenshots of the people who actually worked on those films. Quite often the credits of Production Manager and Line Producer are used interchangeably so what Ken did is he looked to see who was listed as a production manager and if there was no line producer listed, he would apply to credit himself as the line producer and vice versa. It’s so disgusting that he would do this to raise money from unsuspecting investors like us and that he would steal credits from the people who actually did this work. Think about it, think about how hard it is to get these jobs and to earn these credits and then to have this moron give himself the same credit when the only thing he really did was a little fraudulent data entry. Ken Kaufman you are seriously a piece of garbage.

So if you or anyone you know is working with him, STOP   Ken Kaufman is a NO good liar and a charlatan. Also, please reach out to IMDB and ask that his credits be proven or removed.

This is also something his clients and their representation as other agencies and talent companies should know about so they don’t get ripped off as well. Can you imagine signing with an agent who had produced close to a dozen movies only to find out he’s never made a movie. Screw Ken Kaufman.

Save your time and money and stay away from Ken Kaufman. We hope other people follow our lead and file law suits as well.

Sincerely, his former colleague,

Joanna S
