Beware...Kevin Cruz is a scammer. Here is how it works.

You sign up with him at several of his different dba,s as a service her provides as a driving imstructor for your kids 6 hours they need for the DMV. He demands cash upfront, proceeds with the first 2 hour lesson, then asks you to schedule the 2 lesson for about 3 weeks out. You text him and eventually he will test back a date and time. You then respond with that date works. When the day comes 3 weeks later, he does not show up, does not call etc. I had to text him and he insisted it was the following week, however he sent me the text with the date and time for which I agreed. He shows up an hour later, and proceeds to just sit in his car on the passenger side with his barefoot up on the dash board unshaven and a mess. Never apologized for showing up an hour late, nothing.

I want this to be over with, so I allow my daughter to go with him, he the. Proceeds to have her drive him to a car wash (where he said it's fun for the teens, and my daughter was asked and she said fine....he never asked and she wanted to come home) second stop after this he wants to get coffee and something to eat, leaves her waiting in his car. He declares it is a bathroom break, next stop,is to get gas for the car, then finally after all of this he tells her to pull the car to the curb pulls out his phone and insist she leave him a 5 star review on Google. The truth is my daughter after the 1 lesson never wanted to see this man again, but I wanted her to finish out the course. So while they are driving he takes a phone call an proceeds to scream s and turns into a raging lunatic on the phone while my poor kid is driving this person around town. And to beleive this unsafe and unstable jerk brags that he brought your child home safely from their lesson and to focus on that.

So here is the scam...you ask for the date and time of your final lesson and he turns into a complete freak, acts completely crazy, horrible and rude, so as a parent, you have. O sane choice but to tell this idiot to go away...and he recites over and over that you will get no refund. The truth is I think DMV has actually revoked his certification ability based on numerous consumer complaints. So you will never get to the 3rd and final lesson and get the certification, because he in fact can not issue that. So he creates this false conflict before completion, and keeps your money. He will write a rebuttal review each time he receives negative feedback, and th tone is always the same, the parent is lying, the parent did. To follow the rules, the parent is rushing him, the parent is allowing their kid to drive with a permit illegally just pure nonsense. In fact he pastes and copies his responses on Yelp because there are so many negative reviews! He enjoyed calling me bad news from the start, and a stupid attorney who can not read a contract, and went on to say I bullied him. We all got a good laugh on his review about me and our family. He named us part of his "Bad Family" people he has to deal with.

Kevin Cruz is a scam

The responses by him to any complaint are all the same script. It's so transparent and full of nonsense. The parent is drama, the parent did not read contract( which he tells you he will print and give you at next lesson, of course you never get). He says you were trying to illegally push him into completing the course sooner than legally allowed ( of course his educational background in the legal field consists of high school and that of a part-time short yellow bus driver), because as a parent you waited to long to start the course so now your fault on a timeline. There is no 6 hour driving behind the wheel course that takes 4-6 months to complete like his the longest is 3 weeks max. and now my daughter will be done by September 7 not the October 24 date he told us. The best thing Kevin has done is provide all the legitimate driving schools business because most parents will kick this loser to the curb and get rid of him, and move on...good for their for business I was told. I was also given agencies to contact to report him, as Kevin Cruz has been using many different names for his driving school scams. I think Kevin's road to ripping people off may soon be over, as the Orange County DA seemed very interested in investigating the situation further.
