We were married on August 1, 2009. We were searching for a photographer and were told to use Kevin Mawson by the wedding coordinator. We met with Kevin Mawson and signed a contract on April, 29, 2009. This contract entitled us to have him photograph our wedding, put together a 12" x 12" album, 2 8" x 10" portraits, 1 DVD with negatives. Total cost of $3099.38
Kevin Mawson was at our wedding and was slightly rude during the event but it was tolerable. He somewhat ignored a few requests we had made and wanted to do it his way only. After the wedding he was slow to getting our photos to us for approval into the album.
Once we finally were able to get a hold of Kevin Mawson and approve our album his wife requested our Final Payment. The payment was sent and Kevin Mawson disappeared.
Numerous attempts via E-Mail and phone calls were made to contact Kevin Mawson. There were no responses for months. Finally almost a year after our wedding we were told the album was taking longer than usual because of a fault of the album company putting it together. I contacted the album company and they said they never got an order from Kevin Mawson and that he was lying to me.
When I requested a response from Kevin Mawson about the lie they continued to ignore me. To this day they are not returning calls or Emails and I have not received any part of my order that is stated in the contract. I have made my payment in full and they have done nothing on there end.

Mawson is lying.
I have been trying to contact him for months as well and he does not respond. I have not received any notification that he closed his business or that he hired an attorney. I have not heard from any attorney.
Further, I don't understand how a downturn in business prevents Mawson from delivering photos and albums THAT WERE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE.
My son's bar mitzvah was on June 13, 2009. Aside from albums and prints, we were to receive a DVD with high resolution images of all of the photos Mawson took. That costs exactly one DVD. I'll even send him the DVD if I can get my prints.
He's entitled to some payment for shooting the affair, but only if I get something out of it. If he has all the prints it does me no good. I will deal with the bankruptcy court (if he actually files) to try and get my money back for the albums he has not delivered. But first and foremost, I want my pictures.

My company is in the process of filing for bankruptcy. Letters went out advising people of this and supplying them with the name of our attorney etc.
I lived and worked in NY for many years. We did not suddenly run off to Florida with anyone's money. We owned our home down here for years prior to moving here. With the suffering business and the decline of my wife's health, we were forced to come to warmer weather and a home on one level.
I am sorry that he did not get his album but we did make sure that he got his photos. There was no intent to scam or rip anyone off just a rapid decline in business. If there were enough funds to complete his album then it would have been made but without a new influx of cash it couldn't survive. The business couldn't sustain itself so so it was shut down and an attorney was contacted.
